Nice peeps, need your collective detective skills.
My parents have a small animal living in their garden. They've managed to catch it on film, but have no idea what it is. It isn't a squirrel or a rat, but it is around the same size. It looks a bit like a guinea pig and has a short pink tail. They live near water, so it could be a vole of some sort. It nervously slopes along on its belly, then when its in the open has a scampering type gait. It's a non descript grey-brown colour.
Any ideas? Need to know whether it should be trapped/saved/let be.

The film's a bit fuzzy, but that is what it looks like, thanks! It's very cute. Only problem is my parents live the opposite side of the road from the river:(.Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Tried to sign up with broadband, but I can't as they don't have my address on the drop down lists and without an address on that list I can't get broadband. I did get a date of 6th December from one before they said they couldn't do it; so even if/when I get that sorted out it's another 10+ days.
I've put forward the address to register with Royal Mail - so awaiting their response.... although I don't have email, so won't be able to pounce on their response and act/reply.
I typed this into Notebook as I can't get a signal again tonight from home.... and am hoping that (eventually) the MSE page will load .... but it takes about 10 minutes before I get a clue if it will.
Silvercar's suggestion re phone paid off as I plugged one in and got the number of the line OK.
So I am standing here, no furniture, no telly ... no Internet. Things ... just ... suck really.... and on top of all that I took my jar of coffee to work today and bl00dy left it there!!
All I can do all evening, again, is sit on the floor, stand up, pace back and forth ... and repeat for the next 6 hours.... or, play solitaire (again).
So you have a phone line, that must have at some point had an account assigned to it, which must have an address and a post code.
I thought Royal Mail assign post codes even before properties are finished. I thought yours wasn't a new build in any case??? I would be tempted to adopt a post code of the nearest neighbour, befriend the neighbour and tell them to send the engineer round to you if they appear. Stick a post-it on neighbours door if necessary.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. You can serch post codes on the Royal Mail site.
I use it the odd time for billing when I only know the address.

Anyone watch Supersized Earth?
The best thing I've seen on TV in a while.
Did you know
China have built more highway miles than is in Europe or USA in the last 20 years.
China have half of the 100 highest road bridges (including the top 10) in the world from next to none 10 years ago.
In South Korea they make massive mega container ships at the rate of 100 per year.
I thought the Millau Viaduct was impressive untill I seen some of Chinese road construction.0 -

I read this and felt very envious of you. Having your parents. I just thought "how lovely".
Enjoy them and their vole.0
