I'm definitely not a car person then :) Here I am thinking that I should splash out and spend at least £1000 on the next car. :rotfl:

I'm gonna do a PN's POSH ALERT :p with the heated seats

I'm still waiting for a car that has remote central locking, let alone heated seats!

My £461 Ebay buy is still going strong but we think it may be its last year and then it will be time for it to go to car heaven.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

I read this and felt very envious of you. Having your parents. I just thought "how lovely".

    Enjoy them and their vole.

Thanks Spirit. Unfortunately my Mum is quite unwell at the moment. She's undergoing tests so I'm going to hang off saying what for as it may yet (fingers very crossed) be something else.

I don't like heated seats. There's that vague sensation that takes you back to being three years old again and wondering if you've wet yourself. Not nice. The posh alert peeps can keep those.

I have not bonded with my BMW:(, but my husband really likes it. He uses the different modes and allsorts. I CBA. The automatic gearbox and the heated seats are the best bits IMO.

I have had my Audi since it was new. It is 13 years old. When it got to 90,000 miles I discovered a button that switched off the central locking. This week I've discovered that it has a button for quick clearing the windscreen (how useful would that have been over the last 13 years).

I like my cars to be like me - as simple as possible; and when I buy another car it will probably be another Audi as the buttons are still almost the same. I have my eye on the A1 Sportback as I fancy something smaller.

I think there are a number of us of a certain age that would be ashamed to admit we wouldn't have to google that.

Wheezy took one for the team though. He could at least claim immunity on the grounds that he is Belgian.

    I didn't have to google it :)

I also don't like heated seats, makes me feel like I need the toilet, not a nice feeling when you are on the motorway and miles from services.

The next level up in my car cost £1000 more and added heated seats and electric heated wing mirrors. I didn't want the heated seats and couldn't justify £1000 for heated wing mirrors.

I did think it odd that the touch screen satnav and reversing cameras came lower down the pecking order than heated wing mirrors.

So what do you get in a car at £1000 that you don't get in one that costs £461?

I had an Audi A4 TDI Avant from around then too. Was a good car but you will notice things have moved on when you change.

My last 3 cars have had heated seats and I always hated them until this car and now I love them. That's as wierd to me as it sounds to you.
The reversing camera is only good for when your almost parked to make sure your right at the back. The sensors are better as they aid you in reversing into a space. Can't imagine you need the cam in a juke as it's pretty short.
The heated mirrors are pretty useless as I like to use them to reverse out of my drive and they take too long to dimist.

Real POSH alert for not knowing the difference in £461 and £1000 worth of goods :D
