Ahhhh, Richmond park.
I once spent a few weeks staying with some musician friends/clients in a surprisingly extravagant house on Richmond hill.
Can't say I remember much of those few weeks to be honest, but seeing the deer in Richmond park through a misty sunrise at 5 am in the company of a surprisingly entertaining group of people and a rather altered state of mind is one thing that will remain with me for life.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”

Least favourite parts of London:
Bank Station interchange in the rush hour
Anywhere on Oxford Street
Harrods and the pavement immediately outside
Most of the South Bank (too brutalist)
Swiss Cottage if I'm in a car
Favourite bits:
Parliament Hill
Regents Park
Green Park
The Embankment
The Mall
the little side streets round the back of Soho and Noho with their great restaurants that aren't flooded by shoppers and tourists
St John Street, but the rest of Farringdon less so
Tower Bridge - I adore Tower Bridge. It is so beautiful. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? On the Embankment, just to the West of Hungerford Bridge is a bust of Joseph Bazalgette. He was the man responsible for, amongst many other things, the sewerage network in London.
He should have a statue 1,000ft high erected to him.0 -
Swiss Cottage - my brother and I would always wake up (or more likely be woken up) as we got to the Swiss Cottage pub when we went to London to see some of my parents' friends. I was quite excited when I realised it was close when I lived in Kilburn.
We went for something to eat (not proper dinner) in a place in Soho - it was packed, but mainly full of Italians which was a good sign0 -

It's such a good landmark that pub. Learning n. London, it was a god send many a time. When initially recovering I often used to detour my trips from doctor to come back via Swiss cottage because it avoided a massive walk up a hill I just couldn't manage, because there was a bus, and the incline is less steep up that way.0 -
Bl**dy Yodel.
Just noticed that I've had a slip through my door for a parcel delivery. Now why I have a slip when I've been in all morning and the doorbell hasn't rung, well that's question 1.
However, they've managed to deliver my parcel. Somewhat bizarrely, rather than ringing the doorbell, they've opened my locked electricity cupboard, placed it in there, left the door swinging open in the wind and sodded off. I don't even know how the got the door open. I have called drtifosi at work and he didn't leave door open, it wasn't open when he left for work and he's not the sort of person who would lie to me. So !!!!!! has happened here?

Have you checked your door bell is working?0 -
That is bizarre viva. We get slips from Royal Mail all the time when we are in. I am convinced they never even try to deliver the package, just come around with the slips and leave you to pick it up from the post office. Would make sense with the traffic around here...
However this doesn't explain why they wouldn't ring the belll if they actually have package with them!0 -
Delivery is a nightmare. My neighbours address is very, very like mine. We get each others post often. Last week I told parcel force where to deliver a parcel for next door (you have to drive around the corner at the end of the road) and he waited till I had gone in then ran and left it on my doorstep.
It was heavy too.0 -

Yep, it works fine. It's a wired system rather than battery or wireless so doesn't go wrong (or it hasn't all the time I've lived here). Have checked it though because this is so odd. The back up door knocker works fine too.
It's just so bizarre. I don't know how they've got into a locked cupboard. Either they've managed to unlock it or we've had an electrical reader in today who's left the cupboard open, but then why would you leave a valuable package on display with the door wide open? Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing?
