not sure - would have thought in a city with 20 million inhabitants and only a very basic social welfare system that you can probably find quite a lot of people prepared to do pretty much any job, no matter how horrible, for not very much money.

True but if the guy legged it I wouldn't want to be the manager responsible for getting the job done while the replacement was getting trained up.

Yes, pigs, and sheep and cows and roosters, all naïf sort of style.

It is a remnant from my mother's kitchen curtains in the nineties.

Used to get people knocking on my door to ask if we wanted to be in the audience of Ready Steady Cook. We lived on the road where the studiio was where they filmed it and they'd send people out to round up the neighbours if they didn't have a full audience.

Got fed up of them asking and when the battery on the doorbell went dead I didn't replace it.:D

Posh alert. We get rounded up for Big Brother!

Dh just gave me a glass Of hautes cotes de Beaune and even with the taste impact of my pills I ided the flavours on the label(apple and nutmeg, but I also said cream. Our bottle is rather past it's beast though. :(. A note for the furture might be to organise wines by when they should be consumed!
Dh thinks I should do a wine tasting course, professionally, but.......worried they would all be a load of know all up them selves people.

Do it I say. It's a fascinating topic.

Just got back from The Big Smoke (gave Herts a wave as I passed through :). I look like a wild woman - it was raining most of the day and also windy. Had a pretty successful day taking advantage of offers, and also caught up with an ex-colleague (which is why I'm so late back).

It was really nice being back there - even just as a visitor (but one who knows their way around fairly well). It did remind me why I only ever ventured onto Oxford St after work though

it's difficult to think of a place i despise more than oxford street.

my least favourite places in london are:

    1) oxford street
    2) westfield (shepherd's bush)
    3) the heavily congested stretch of road between my house and westfield
    4) anywhere on the central line especially in summer
    5) shoreditch

my favourite places in london are:

    1) my sofa
    2) my bed
    3) richmond park
    4) the white horse
    5) the white cross

I know online security is important but I am playing that game where you don't know your password so you do the 'forgot password' stuff, get to choose your new password and get told you can not use any of the ones you want to because 'you have used them before' so you choose something random that of course you can not remember the next time.

I would not be so annoyed but the account also has one of those electronic random number generator widgets so even if the password was compromised it would still be impossible to get in.
    I think....

Can't you just use the password you used last time with a different number on the end of it? I have to change my password at work every 3 months and just do that.

But in 6 months I won't remember what the number on the end is and I will then get 3 guesses before the account is locked and I am in to telephone support in the US :( So instead after 2 wrong guesses it is easier to do the automated reset password routine. I also had the secure key thang give a 'low batt' message at one point and I am not sure they will send me a new one as I no longer qualify under the offer where I was sent it for free (they now seem to expect some ridiculously high turnover every month).
