A slightly posh alert feature of the new kitchen is that my house is now SO humongous, ok, just lots of thick walls, that I cannot get signal from the land line or the wifi in there.. I cannot hear the front door either.
Not sure how to fix either of tose problems.
We had electric heaters on today to warm up, and we keep tripping the electrics, whcih have hung n through the bad weather.
I have been trying to sort out the kitchen. I thought it would take the morning but we still haven't finished tonight.. We have eight separate pots of pepper, I never buy pepper, but dh has almost each time he has moved.

Alternatively ... you can find your own solution, maybe a bit quicker, and maybe without the faff.
You're welcome to it if you want to try it though - I've only kept it "in case" I ever wanted to give it another go..... which is unlikely to arise as a need ever.
Basically it's another box that you plug in - some distance away from your router - and it picks up the router signal and retransmits it.0 -
Isn't it just like a cake except without the flour? I don't see a problem with that..
I have been asked to make another pumpkin pie and Libby's is sold out at waitrose. I may have to buy a butternut squash tomorrow and experiment! Waitrose does have other pumpkins available so it may still be ok....
Stick with butternut. (Libby's is a type of butternut) I think kabocha would work, i would try it ar least. and maybe those flavoursome onion squash. The problem with so many pumpkins is that they are too watery. Butternut is not as strong as kabocha, but less watery that most pumpkins.0 -

We had to resite the cordless phone to be in one of the rooms at the back of the house to receive signal on the patio.
Allegedly it is easier to pick up wireless signal if the router is upstairs, though given most initial phone line boxes are downstairs, I doubt many do that. We plug a separate router into the modem via ethernet cable and that improves the wifi signal.
Q for professional shopper: Any good deals on the iphone 4S or 5 about? Missed the Tesco mobile one for £20 a month. Ideally I would pay upto £99 for the phone and preferably under £30 a month for the contract. I need 300 minutes, 200 texts and 500MB data.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Oh gawd... I never did come anywhere near a decision about phones/broadband did I.... I don't even know if I'll get a dongle signal where I'm moving to.
If I don't appear over the weekend, it will be because I have no dongle signal... and will be working as hard as possible to sort out some Internet connection somehow.... I just expect to plug it in and it'll all be all right.... *fingers crossed*
I've two different dongles, one paid for, other one PAYG.... so backup plan there...0 -

For the wifi use a powerline wireless kit.
You plug one adapter in a mains socket near the router with a network cable going from your router to your adapter. You then plug your other (wireless) adapter in a mains socket in the place you have no signal.
The signal runs over your mains cable and they seem to work well.0
