I'm afraid I think Apple is the business model of the devil - overpriced hardware and everything tied down and closed off so you have to spend all the rest of your money with them rather than being able to choose services and applications from whoever does them best. Far worse than Microsoft in their most evil days imho.

I'm more of a Russell Howard fan personally.
As a birthday treat, I've let you beat me at you-know-what that we sometimes compete in.:beer: Think nothing of it!;)We had to resite the cordless phone to be in one of the rooms at the back of the house to receive signal on the patio.
Allegedly it is easier to pick up wireless signal if the router is upstairs, though given most initial phone line boxes are downstairs, I doubt many do that. We plug a separate router into the modem via ethernet cable and that improves the wifi signal.

After watching the news about floods and that documentary about cities this week I'm glad I don't live in Mexico City where the city's sinking in a crater and the sewage is starting to flow backwards down to the city and has to be pumped upwards to drain away.
And I wouldn't like that poor guy's job in the diving suit to swim in the sewage and clear up the filters and pumps.:eek:
Mind you I supsect his annual review goes well.
"Well we've decided to let you keep the filter-cleaning job for another year but remember you need to work hard at it or we'll get someone else to do it"

I quite like it, although I've only had it on a few occasions. I used to have a neighbour who worked for Russian Oligarchs,and always had a load in the fridge, given as gifts, Beluga, the real deal. It must have been worth thousands of pounds :eek: Tastes nice sprinkled on a boiled egg.0 -

I have a confession. My palate, sensitive enough to taste softness of water easily struggles with the saltiness that is caviar. Vegetarian caviar is fine for me. Cannot remember what it's made of, but it's salty and pops in the mouth. I like caviar, I just have little discernment.0 -
Gdb will be pleased ihave lit the woodburner already, so will be warm this evening.:).
In fact, new part of house is warmer th an I was all last year with an electric heater and it's massive insulation. E en though we have no actual door / window fittings so there are minor draughts the themometre in there reads 16 degrees, which I think is pretty impressive for one plug in heater in that room, with no door to the next room too.
I just seem to be feeling it more.
I am washing everythoing in sight ATM. If it sits still it goes in the washing machine. The dogs are pacing anxiously.0 -

I made mine Thursday it's fine today. I don't think I would make it more in advance than that though. You could of course make and fridge your pastry. The whizzing up of the filling takes not very long so you could bake it quite quickly after work one if you don't have to factor in pastry. it is better after a day IMO. But I am not keen on something's hanging about. I have never frozen it (never makes it to the freezer) wonder if it would freeze ok.
I found the famous Christmas tree ring baking tin in Bath on thursday and bought it. I made a plain orange sponge today and stuck it in the oven while showering, which is how I used to cook when I worked, prep, oven, bath, eat.0
