I wish I could do the same, especially as the utility companies have decided to dig up most of my way back home.
- Egham/Thorpe area : roadworks for replacing water mains, 4 way traffic signals, estimated end of works February 2013
- Chertsey Bridge : Just digging holes for whatever reason, 2 way traffic lights, no end date
- Shepperton : gas mains replacement, 3 way traffic lights, no end in sight...
Grrrr!!!! :mad:0 -

Sorry about your news gen but I'm sure it'll be your turn for good news soon.
As regards elevation, I'm not very high but when the snow lands we're cut off from lower bits of SW London. Wonder how loing till it snows as it feels like it could get v frosty tonight.:DThere is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -
Had a nice day out in St Albans. There was a graduation ceremony going on at the Abbey, but I didn't know St Albans had a university? Driving home saw loads of fields covered in mist, how does that happen?
Edit: googled, University of Herts (formerly Hatfield poly) has graduation ceremonies at the Abbey.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Yeah and don't we know it - they take over half the parking and generally walk about looking gormless and blocking those who need to get on with their business - do they not realise they have just completed a course at a poly...couldn't they have the ceremony at Hatfield Asda?I think....0 -

I've got a second interview for the other job which is also a step up from what I'm doing now; we'll see how I go there.
I maintain what I said yesterday: I've got a job that suits my needs, pays me amply and has lifestyle benefits too as the hours are pretty short and the boss is happy for me to leave early or turn up late as long as the work gets done: performance is very much measured on output not input. I can go off to the gym for 90mins at lunchtime, I can go and find myself interesting projects to do at work.
More money would be good but it always would. Today I left work at about 3pm and was home not long after 3.45 having had a schooner and few minutes cricket watching on the way. It's not a bad life!
A very happy birthday to Silvercar. The first 21 years go by so quickly. Before you know it you'll be 30.
38.4m above sea level (126ft in old money).
On the one hand I'm (hopefully obviously) sorry you didn't get the job. On the other, it doesn't sound like things are going so badly as they are!0
