No, it won't be long, and we do have the electric shower, which is hot, just not much water pressure, I could have used that.
Nice builder was worried about this weekend but I pointed out we had lived trough worse for longer.
It's toughest on parent, but there is an electric heater in that bedroom now and the wood burner in the sitting room, so it's not like we have to freeze.0 -

Well, dh can join you laties. And I will make a m!nage a trois with the early birds.0 -

Snow at this time of year? It's beach time. There's something very wrong with the weather right now. I blame climate change.0 -

Wow. It's a bit cold here, but not even a hard frost, just a light one.
NB, tonight I MUST fleece my tender Buddleja.0 -
Sunshine and frost here.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
Mornin NPs
Kab clan are off to the great city of Londinium tomorrow on the train, for a very short break.
Of course, my role in all this is as a passenger in all senses of the word. I've no idea where we are staying; where we plan to go (some museums and a Tower?); what we do about eating; etc , etc.
I'm a veritable model of consistency
Any good value suggestions in London would be welcome off the knowledgeable peeps here. I will of course try and pass these off as my own thoughts to DW, but she will suss me out instantly!0 -
Good news on my car MOT front yesterday. New shock absorbers are not needed.
Bad news quickly followed this, in the style which all garages manage to pull off. New headlights are required.
So I wave goodbye to the wrong side of £500.
Being able to see where you are driving is over rated anyway, you will soon hear when you hit something, and quite possibly feel it too !0 -
Lunch.....
The new world Gerrard place?
Dim sum from trolleys. Used to be a nice person topic of conversation. Delicious. I especially recommend, BBQ pork bun (the steamed white soft ones, not the baked golden ones) paper prawns, water chestnut jelly in a square (I think that's on the soup trolley, cannot remember, (but definitely not the yam square one, it tastes like BO smells). Roast suckling pig portion, and, if you are brave with texture prawn Chung fan (? That's worng, maybe someone here will give you the correct name) which we call slobby prawns, it looks like white sloppy rectangles, and it is, but with soy sauce it makes a very sensual feeling and taste in the mouth.
Each dish has two to four little servings, and the cost can add up, but it's great.
Dh went to a great Persian restaurant out in askew road (hammersmith) this week, he is raving about it. It's called Sufi and his main dish cost itro £8. Aubergines feature heavily. I wouldn't trek out there unless you are out there for some reason.
Personally though, I would take the opportunity to have food from cultures less easily found out side metros
Oiltank areas.
Some people rave aboput the bagel shops in brick lane.0 -
we're off out to london too (but the greater one!) Most of our friends live in West London but somehow are just as accessible as the trains are awesome.0
