On a more positive note, how has week two at work been?
Sorry... 20 questions...
Work's been frustrating, but fine. Part of the role is to take them forward, so to do this I've had to look at what they've got.... and sitting beside the outgoing person I've been doing this as "fill in work" when not tasked with specific monkey tasks (I can't BELIEVE how things are done). Outgoing has no experience and just does the job the way they've invented, with no knowledge/experience/talent for it at all, so (with my 25+ years broad experience there's a lot I can spot).... however, I don't want the outgoing to see what I am doing/looking at, or to ask questions as they won't understand the answers and I don't want the outgoing to benefit from my years' of experience when it is the employer who is paying me for those skills.... so tricky window shifting going on
Bottom line is: it's all wrong, set up wrong, working wrong, for the wrong reasons, sending out the wrong message, doing them no good, taking too many man hours to produce !!!!!! results that would (without me) only achieve a bigger team working hard at getting it wrong.0 -
Order a pizza?
Seriously, you have done well to last the week so far.
You and ?I would have made a really compatible couple.DW likes to get up at 5 which wakes me  whereas she can fall asleep at 9.30 pm while I am on the laptop till later.
I can fall asleep.at 9.30 too :cool:0 -
Sounds like once you've got your feet under the table you'll be up for promotion then! I'm taking it that outgoing resigned rather than being pushed. In that instance, they probably aren't that interested. Unless they are leaving to use the same skills elsewhere, which is worrying for their new employer! Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

I've said before probably "she makes things up". e.g. I am happy as Larry, rock up to the house and know she's in ... downer.... I walk in and straight away it's "how's your day been?" ... and whatever I say she then invents things. "You're down at the moment and lonely. You'll be happier once you've got friends and are going out. You should join the gym, my one's good and it makes me feel better.... whitter ... whitter ... you should .... what you should do is ... whitter... whitter......"
NO!!!! I am not down/depressed except when I discover YOU are still farquing breathing!!!! Now FARQ OFF OUT OF MY FACE I JUST WANT TO BE LEFT ALONE!!!!!!!
But I just end up going quiet .... until I can shuffle off to my room and shut the door
Very wise. It always pays to keep previous employers/landlords sweet. You'd be surprised the people that are interested in thier opinion later. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -
What a great start to the weekend. It's a glorious, sunny day but not too hot. I went to a pretty rubbish looking cafe while my son was doing jiu jitsu and it turns out that they do the best espresso in Sydney! They wood roast their own blend. It's great because the coffee in Sydney usually ranges from mediocre to appalling.
Even better than that, they were playing Miles Davis (the Quintet that had John Coltrane in it).0 -
Just got up as working today. Looked out window. There's snow on my car:eek:.
