Brrrr.......its for to the time of year again. I just washed my face with water so cold it made my teeth ache. ( no hot water connected to sink ATM) Dh carried dog dog upstairs and hilariously she is asking to go down again where it's warmer. (for various reasons she is better with us tonight but tomorrow she can start sleeping with big dog again I hope) . Sitting on the side of the bed made me go 'ooooooh' at the coldness ( wish I could find that silly electric blanket).
We are debating options. Two nights with no sleep dh says w should sleep in tomorrow ' for my sake', but I think we should get up as normal. The compromise is a shorter sleep in. ( I am thinking of cl ock change issues)
Architect has checked over all the measurements causing nice builder and I concern this week and he is confident that the issue causing stress should work......and coming up with options for if it doesn't.
How far off having a useable hot water and heating system are you? Hopefully not too long. I don't want to hear of you having another winter like last one given that you've been poorlier (is there such a word) since. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Of course I'll still be here (just not during the day)As if the nice people can be forgotten.
My vote is always for a lie in. I really like sleeping (and am generally pretty good at it). Glad dog dog seems to be doing ok. It is chilly tonight isn't it?0 -

Seriously, I hope you have a good weekend and that everything goes really well on Monday, then builds from how it has started.
Thanks viva. I think I know what I'm doing on Monday up until 9.45ish (due to arrive at 9.30), guessing it will involve being shown where the fire exits, toilets etc are, and being introduced to many new, people than I have capacity to remember names, but other than that I have no idea. Likewise the rest of the job really!0 -

Do you wish you carried on staying with the bloke? Is it possible to go back there?
On a more positive note, how has week two at work been?

Just smile, forget their names.... all you need to know for the first month is: what time can I get out of here? Where the loos/coffees are ..... and, well, that's it
I think that's just so there is a bit of time at the start of the day before, the clueless new starter needs to be metI have bought a car as I expect I won't be keeping a strict 9-5 and so need to not rely on the shuttle bus.I was doing 12 hour days with a 90+ minute commute each way in my last job, so as long as its better than that I'll be ok!
I'm hoping everyone is good at wearing their id badges. I think.I'll be doing plenty of slightly nervous smiling anyway0 -

You and ?I would have made a really compatible couple.
DW likes to get up at 5 which wakes me  whereas she can fall asleep at 9.30 pm while I am on the laptop till later.
My DH does that so I think I've found a partner for your DW too... Though this could sound a bit freaky to anyone reading this thread for the first time. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing?
