Cazzdevil - thank you very much - not sure exactly what im being thanked for but thank you back! lol : ).............................OVERLYKEENSAVER = for a gardening basket why not include some herb seeds, plant markers, a mini trowel and spade, a mini watering can, gloves, some sort of manly hand moisturiser, you could even get one of those 'pot friend' thingys that hang over the pot (wilkos have these). you could even get him a gardeners hat or if you are a crafty/sewing person you could make him like a mans tool belt to fit his trowel and spade in. (was thinking a gardening apron then remembered its for a man)

  • great ideas thank you everyone. I usually order my christmas cards in October and have them written by the beginning of December, just by doing two or three every evening or so. OH thinks I am crazy but at least I don't have to panic about them come December when we are so busy with everything else.

Hi All, welcome arlybarly - hope you enjoy the thread. Kaz - i dont hide the fact that ive brouht early either - i think my early shopping is paying off to and rubbing off on my mother in law who is starting her christmas shopping this weekend...............................................................................EVERYONE I have a question - Ive made my sister a pamper hamper ie smellies, choccies, wine etc but recently she has been saying how she doesnt have alot of cooking things liek casserole dishes, bakign trays, tins etc - so i was wonderign if you think it is ok to give kitchen things as a christmas gift. Dont get me wrong im not planning on just giving her a casserole dish - i was thinking of getting her a few bits and pieces, boxing them up and getting her a 'basics cooking skills' book or something because the last phonecall - i kid you not - was her ringing me to ask how to boil an egg so it was soft in teh middle - come to find out she'd been trying to make her bf a 'dippy egg' and had so far managed to hard boil 8 in the process - doh!!! what do you guys think?? any ideas??? The thinking was if i did this (need ideas of other bits i could add) then i could give the pamper hamper id made for her to my mother in law or sister in law adn thereby one less gift to get.

I have been collecting things all year for baking hamper for my sister

    so far i have

    Baking tins
    rolling pin
    pastry brush
    whisks
    measuring spoons
    cutters
    mixing bowl
    measuring jug
    wooden spoons
    oven gloves
    baking book

I have purchased most by using coupons in tecos to the value of the items
so i have basically got most for free.

    Hiya
What do people think of the Tesco's savings stamps? Is it worth me saving them? Do I have to spend the whole £50 or whatever in one go?
    thanks

you can spend as many as you like - if your card only has 10 on it you can use it

obviously if you can fill it up you get the free £1

Lol - Im starting my saving stamps now too. I was telling bf i might wait and see and put a few quis aside each month to put onto it. We dont have a big shop come christmas but if its already sorted then its one less thing to panic about come December and the 'oh no i havent done the food shop yet!'. One less stress for christmas too.

I have just filled up my Tesco savers stamps card :) I have been saving them by adding a £ here and there when I have a pound coin in my purse. And then I also exchange any spare change to pound coins to put on there. SO now we have £50 towards christmas treats just for us :) Feels good seeing that card all filled up... Am I sad???
