    Yes, they did.

She asked for rooms that could be requested as connecting, that is not what they have sold her. With the room type they sold her connecting rooms are an impossibility, they don't exist.

    See the difference.

They should have told her at the time of booking that the inter-connectable rooms were sold out, so that she could chose to have separate rooms or cancel, not just book the rooms she specifically said she didn't want, with no consultation.

If i have read it right

The hotel does have connecting rooms but were sold out at time of booking,

The Op was then sold another type of room (were they cheaper) but with no connecting ability but the TA said they would request anyway, the agent probably didnt know that and was just paying lipservice which I agree was wrong

Did the Op check on the confirmation what type of room had been sold?

If all connecting rooms are now full what does the OP want,

As i said before its not a massive problem for the parents to split up is it?

Of course in an ideal world the connecting rooms would be answer

I am truly amazed that anyone could think it acceptable to leave two 5 year olds and a 3 year old on their own in a hotel room.

How on earth you would sleep at night, I just do not know.

Indeed - I can only assume (and hope) its people who don't have kids themselves.

Hope Op gets it sorted. Two adults sleeping in separate rooms certainly isn't ideal

    Did they really?

The Op keeps mentioning a request for a room type not a gaurantee

I didnt think any hotel would gtee any room type before arrival

It may be that one parent will have to sleep with the kids

All of the hotels I have stayed in from the basic rooms to suites, many of them have connecting doors.

In a resort that caters for families, I suspect there will not be as many room types as you would find say in a city hotel and I would also find it inconceivable (I will hold my hands up if wrong) that the 'class of room' that the OP has booked does not have a limited number of connecting rooms as well.

The key word used above is 'limited' and will not be guaranteed - they can certainly be requested but not guaranteed.

Are family suites not available? If it means forking out a few more quid rather than spoiling your holiday (which it seems it invariably will) why not consider this option?

OP - What outcome do you actually want?

Obviously the connecting room is seemingly not available to you - so if you feel you have been 'mis-sold' then ask for your money back - although I would not hold out much hope of that.

It will not be resolved on this forum - so you need to decide what action to take. Sorry for being harsh, but you really need to sort this out as it is obviously concerning you so much.

I agree - but it is the only realistic option at this time.

Well they could, but after paying for a luxury holiday and entertaining three under fives during the day they cannot be blamed for wanting some time alone together. I know I certainly would

You cant have it allways, the doors would be open between rooms anyway so hardly private

I only have one child and he always shared a room with us when we went away, never saw it as a hardship

Then hopefully the kids would be tired out and sleep - but there are three adults on this trip - couldn't the 18 year old niece stay/ sleep with the kids even on a rota system so that at least the parents could spend time together?

    You are though, completely.

Having kids so young alone in a room is not acceptable. Anyone could enter the room during the night knowing they would not have an adult to deal with. I would not sleep a wink. I would be cancelling my card payment if I didn't get the interconnecting rooms.

Surely you wouldn't leave the room unlocked?
