Have you looked on the hotel's own website to check they even have connecting rooms?

Im waiting on the Travel Agent to get back to me
she says that they run out of the room type we need
and she is going to speak to the on site rep....

If it all fails ill be dragging beds down the hallways in the hotel
and upsetting other guests with all the noise i make :-)

I hope that last comment is intended as a joke.:(

I'm afraid I think that you're really going over the top with this at the moment - I'd concentrate on getting adjoining rooms or those that are close, rather than trying to get something that may not even exist.
  • Yes they do connecting rooms.
But we were sold the wrong room type
I called the resort yesterday and they will only change my
room type when the travel agent does.

So im waiting now to hear what the travel agent are going to do about it.
On the travel agents system it shows that they put req through for
    connecting rooms on ground floor.

And yes i was joking lol ... i wouldnt drag the bed.... id get hubby to carry them :-)

We all would like the room(s) of our choice as we would also like to all sit together on an aircraft as a family - unfortunately, due to various operational circumstances, what we want is not always what we get!

In general, if your really want to be guaranteed a room or a decent seat on a plane - you have to pay for it!

I can sympathise with the OP in some respects, but the reality is that there will be some stipulation in a hotels T&C's that they will not be able to guarantee a certain room.

The OP repeatedly implies that because of the price she has paid, that should guarantee a room of her choice - unfortunately, 6 grand for a long haul family holiday for 6 requiring two rooms is not really excessive.

Don't let this spoil your holiday - make do with what you have and make the best of a perceived bad situation.
  • I have to say that is something like this was VITAL to me enjoying my holiday I'd have got it in writing before handing over any dosh.
  • Lol i wont make do at all...
I asked for something, i paid and now it seems the travel agent
did not quite realise what they were selling me wasnt what the
hotel offered on that room type.
    i.e missold!
Im not gonna go .... oh ok yea thats fine...
if you buy a Merc from a desk and they delivery a VW would
you just go.. oh ok then.... er i dont think so

That's good, at least the hotel has what you want. I've booked connecting rooms before and they haven't even existed!

Hope you get it sorted, I really do understand it's not acceptable, I wouldn't even want my 11yo alone down a hotel corridoor, let alone 3 and 5yos, and if they're anything like my twins at that age the hotel would regret it too :D

  • You could always go with hubby and leave the kids on the travel agents desk, that would teach em.

Erm, she thought she had. That's the crux of the problem.
