Its a suite and jnr suite

So in effect - one room is a downgrade as I understand you initially had two suites?

And I stand to be corrected, but I though the suites did not have connecting rooms (the crux of this thread) - but now it seems they have.

How can a junior suite be an upgrade from a suite - unless you initially were booked in two junior suites?

Confusing - but the main thing is the situation is resolved to your satisafaction.
  • Apparently the hotel room types differ in the resort to what
they actually are on the first choice website

But the main thing is i have been given rooms that actually
    do connect..
So i dont really care how they word it lol

This is quite common as the Tour operator tries to "jazz up" their selection and names of rooms whereas in reality the hotel may only have certain types of rooms under their own classification.

After some of the shocking advice about leaving kids alone in a room and leaving them alone whilst out at night i am surprised some are still harping on to be honest

Hope you enjoy the holiday OP now you have what you originally booked

So pleased that you have the rooms you need now. How horrendous that they threatened to call the police though, they really have no customer skills. I hope you all have a fab holiday after all the stress.

Some might suggest that you are referring to me 'harping' - but it is hardly surprising that there has been some confusion when even the OP has not indicated the correct type of room she booked from the onset.

It seems that she had two JUNIOR suites originally booked - not two suites as indicated in an earlier post and now it seems one of the junior suites has had to be upgraded.

So I can understand how the TA may have been taken it that all the 'suites' may have connecting doors.

As I keep on 'harping', we have only heard one side of the story and that side has been confused.

And just to add, all the sympathy has gone to the OP in respect of calling the police - IF someone was in my premises causing disruption or refusing to leave, then I would do the same - not saying she was of course, but the owners of the business are quite within their rights to remove someone as they have their staff to consider as well.

It seems the old adage of two sides to every story does not apply here.

I am happy though that the TA has resolved the problem.

    Harping over now!:)

Many people aren't as pendantic about details as you as can be seen from tone of your posts. OP went into a TA and booked a hotel she liked look of specifying she needed connecting rooms which TA told her would be done and has been shown from TA notes. However TA could not actually sell those rooms/suites/junior suites (whatever) as that type does not exist.
There may well be more to overall story from other side, who knows - kind of irrelevant in context of your advice however.

Seems to be there has been poor customer service right the way through here and usual practice of avoiding responsibility until someone makes a stand. The only reason for advice to call the police frrom the customer services rep should have been if OP was abusive or threatening

Utterly ridiculous to even still be arguing this

I agree with all the above. If the rooms sold could not ever have connected due to the type then there is no other side to the story. You cannot sell what does not exist. Hotels routinely refer in lofty terms to premium, executive, suite, junior suite etc.etc. All the titles are immaterial to the customer unless they fit their purpose. These rooms, whatever they were named, clearly did not. End of story.

Additionally, persistence and not being fobbed off is not a crime, and to be threatened with the police is indicative of very poor customer service skills on the part of the shop. Unless the OP was verbally or physically abusive it was disgraceful to threaten her with the police.
  • Would just like to add
