Not given connecting rooms
Comments
-
she wasnt forced to have 2 rooms she could have chosen a different holiday.
If the TA is at fault (we dont know for sure) agreed they should sort it but they are I doubt they are going to bear the extra cost if it is substantial, of course they may offer to cover some of the extra or give the option to cancel.
Why would she choose a different holiday if the interconnecting rooms were showing as an option? If they could not be accommodated at all then they would have to choose another holiday, but not if there was a feasible option.0 -

you are missing the point

We were forced to book 2 rooms as we have 5yr old twins and a 3 yr old.
My point is that no one is forced to book 2 rooms, there are other options0 -

No, you are missing the point. They are travelling as part of a larger family group. If you are told that there are no rooms sleeping five but you can have two interconnecting rooms why would you book another holiday? If you want that holiday, then you are forced to book two rooms.0 -
Yes, many of us are seasoned travellers;) but if assured by the TA that we have booked and paid for inter connecting rooms then that is what we would expect to get.
Why the
? Unless you are Michael Palin.
Irrespective of whether the room class has connecting doors or not - such features can only be requested - not guaranteed - how many more times do I and other posters have to instil this point?
I would always like my room to have a nice view on a high floor - if I get the class of room I paid for and it faces the rubbish bins - well tough, what I can do is try to resolve this locally by changing rooms or paying for an upgrade. What I cannot do is demand and kick up an unholy fuss as that will only antagonise the front desk and get me nowhere - something the OP needs to consider when dealing with the TA - remember, they have your money and the upper hand.
170 + posts and counting on this thread regarding a 'problem' that can be easily resolved with some degree of compromise.
As I stated earlier, 3 adults and three kids with two suites between them - not ideal, but hardly catastrophic is it?
If it turns out for operational reasons that adjoining rooms cannot be allocated then compromise or cancellation are the only options.
Let's wait until the OP comes back with a response from the TA and she will have a better idea on what to do next.0 -

You think
This time get it in writing
is bad advice in this case do you?
Whilst the OP an myself might not agree 100% I fully respect her point of view and wish her good luck. I think/hope that she understands SOME of my comments are made a little tongue in cheek and her 'thanks' to SOME of my posts suggests this is so. Life or this forum does not have to be bland in my view. I look at it this way, I don't have to agree with every idiot comment from people who've never been further than Skegness and those idiots don't have to agree with me!
I often make my more off-the cuff comments so OTT that nobody but a fool could possibly take them too seriously. If however I can help you with information from my 10 months per year out of the damp UK travelling in Europe, Asia, OZ/NZ etc I'm happy to do so in a moneysaving sort of way.
Have a nice day.0 -

Because the inference was that only those who agreed with you were seasoned travellers.dickydonkin wrote: »Irrespective of whether the room class has connecting doors or not - such features can only be requested - not guaranteed - how many more times do I and other posters have to instil this point?
How can it be irrespective? If the class of room has no connecting rooms then they cannot be supplied, so should not have been sold. Additionally, none of us are privy to what the OP and the TA agreed prior to booking.dickydonkin wrote: »I would always like my room to have a nice view on a high floor - if I get the class of room I paid for and it faces the rubbish bins - well tough, what I can do is try to resolve this locally by changing rooms or paying for an upgrade. That mindset is why we receive poor customer service.dickydonkin wrote: »170 + posts and counting on this thread regarding a 'problem' that can be easily resolved with some degree of compromise.
