EGG - PPI Claim upheld but still no cheque!
Comments

My claim was upheld on 25th September. I returned the acceptance form on 1st October should have arrived with then on 2nd October.
I waited the 15 WORKING days. Still nothing. On Thursday 25th Oct I emailed simon2.cooper@citi.com politely requesting an update.
He emailed back promptly informing me my acceptance arrived with them on 10th October.......must have been delivered by a pigeon
He then said that my cheque would be with me by WORKING day 15, which would be 31st October. One of his team then rang me on Monday 29th to confirm they had checked that the cheque was printed and on its way. Would be here by today.
Hey presto....it arrived today. Strangely it's dated 25th October, the day I emailed chasing.....coincidence????
Anyway, Simon and his team were polite and courteous and did what they said. I suggest if your 15 working days are up email them nicely and see if they can help you too.

Just wanted to say a big thanks to all the people on this thread who have posted info on how to contact Egg/Citi. Having returned my acceptance form in July (yes, July!), I have today received a cheque for nearly £2K. After months of sending chaser letters to what now appears to be a black hole, I spoke to Chris Lynam in Customer Services at Citi, as well as Simon Cooper, and my cheque arrived within two working days. So glad I came across this thread and good luck to others who are still waiting!0

My cheque finally arrived today, posted my claim acceptance on 17th September! Thanks to all those who posted email/contact numbers for Egg/ CITI.
Now I have this in hand I'm going to send back the £50 offer of compensation for my delay as I was reluctant in case it held up my main PPI claim!!0 -
Hi everyone, I am just about to send of my complaint letter to start my clam for PPI against Egg loads, but I am unsure of the address where to send it. Can someone help on this?
Thanks Russ0 -
Hi
I have just applied to try and claim mis-sold PPI on an Egg loan I had from 2003 (paid off in 2007). I used the following details:
http://www.citibank.co.uk/personals/cards/cards/feedback/egg.htm
I've received acknowledgement from them that they have my questionnaire and will let me know of an outcome within 8 weeks.
Good luck with your application!Mortgage free wannabeMortgage (November 2010) £135,850Mortgage (November 2020) £4,7840 -
Hi,
I too have applied to Canada Square for a refund on PPI I took over 5 years ago.
I had a reply stating that my complaint was upheld, however, no money will be due to me as the policy was cancelled within the 30 day cooling off period?
I don't remember cancelling it but it was so long ago it's hard to recall. I was sold it under the condition that I couldn't have the loan without it so I'm pretty sure I didn't then ring to cancel.
Anybody else had this problem when reclaiming?
I am going to ask for proof of the cancellation anyway but would be nice to know if it's another one of their tactics to avoid paying out...

There is no such thing as a refund. You make a complaint, and the complaint is either upheld or not.
Your only option is send a SAR and £10 to find out on your paperwork.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -

Thank you, I understand this. My question is if they have said the policy was cancelled to anyone else who knows it wasn't, to try to avoid paying another claim?
I will be speaking to them to gather more information but as I say, from what I can recall I'm sure I hadn't cancelled it as I was originally told it was part of the terms to be allowed the loan... :mad:0 -
I worked processing the cheques for dsir, cca and ppi at Egg/Citi/Canada square(whatever you wish to call them) up until the beginning of this month.
I would receive 120 cheques a day and worked them all myself, then pass them on to the very small ppi team.
There was a backlog at their end but should be processing now, so don't worry.
They are not using delay tactics; they just have not got enough staff to cover demand due to redundancies.
Hope this helps0 -
Thanks for the heads-up!
Trying to chase progress on my cheque but so far can't get hold of anyone?!
Have you got any insider ideas that may help?
No one is replying to e-mails and the number I found is permanantly engaged?
Thanks,
A0
