  • Hi everyone,

I've been lurkey lurking for a while on here and just say NOvember, had a problem with my log on and couldn't say hello! Mse have sorted me out now and I've come to join in hopefully!

Me and my oh have just moved to London (kat ill keep an eye out for you on your bike!) and have been living in negative wealth for a while : ( def luckier than some, but it's on nothing. I would like to think I'm quite mse but oh struggles, although not in a truculent way, he just doesn't think about all the little £3 shops here and there. Most of our debt was run up when I was studying, we'd just about manage when I was home, but apart and we'd both spend loads on comfort things!

Anyway, would love to come along for the ride, REALLY WANT A HOUSE and that won't happen til at least back on £0! Also London rent makes me cry (I'm a country/beachy girl at heart). Will also be a cheerleader on Just say no, debt bust dec then want to join in properly after Xmas.

Looking forward to having some fun! Xx

  • Evening Kittens....

Well now. I had a stash of ingredients in my cupboards to make "melting chocolate pots" and am now feeling a little sick! Greedy Puss! But its all worth it cause I have just ticked off NSD #22 and feeling pretty darn happy with myself!

WELCOME to Stickles! And even more so a welcome to London. I drifted over from lovely little green Northern Ireland an sometimes I am just desperate to through myself in the sea for a good old swim.. it does get frustrating and yes its super expensive but you have made the move for a reason yes? Thing will work out don't worry - OH will get on board when he realises the little things all add up.

We have a few Kittens who have had respective OH's kick start their own money saving habit determined to even take on more overtime at work to help... OH will learn, its takes time though...

Clarabara - !!!!! cats and trees are never a great mix but SO amusing!!! I think mine mightn't get at my landlady's though as its in another room but she did have fun in my other house. Mine loves a bauble though... I have to leave the little terror with my landlady while I got back home, the ferry to take her was just too much to face so she gets to stay here...imagine a tabby mog on the ferry with me...:rotfl:

Siouxsie Siouxsie... Siouxsie paid off her CC....Whooop Whoop!!! Right what's next....:p

Killer..ahem..?? How was your first day???? Spill the beans if you are not to tired..?

MissLadyAnnie - 12th of December is CLOSE! How does that feel eh??.. Perhaps a good kickstart with DDD and it might come sooner...live on BEANS I TELL YOU...BEANS!!!!

Happy - how you feeling aboutt hat secured loan now... ready to hit it hard...re-jigged some spread-sheet treats...?:T

I am going to have to think about another way of making money. I stupidly agreed to this walking weekend in two weekends time which is costing money but the travel side of things has been paid for out of my NOvember funds and the food side of things accounted for. I need to realise that although I am on a journey that will be very hard, I can't disappear from normal society....

This is an all girls hiking weekend to the Cotswolds and it should be super great fun... although Mumsy wants to know who on earth thought to go in December...lol! Should be great crack..

I shall prevail..and be super duper careful...

Right I need to brush my teeth of chocolate and ice-cream, wash-up and hit the hay... program on tonight about "Dying for Clear Skin"....aren't we all.....humph....

    Onwards and Upwards...

  • Good evening ninja, the chocolate cups sound loverllly. I have been at work today so the spreadsheets have not been looked at. I can do more unsocial hours at work and it adds a couple of hundred to my wage. I've told oh anything above my minimum will be out into paying the secured loan. Short term losses for long term gains :-). The Cotswolds are lovely, enjoy the walk, I've had a brisk walk this evening and it was nice good for the mind :-). I'm looking forward to looking at your ddd challenge :-) xx

  • Ahoy.

    Well done Siouxsie! Woo woo!

I love when cats go up christmas trees, it makes me just really happy.

My first day was good, had roughly 4 hours of almost the entire company meetings. I have no idea what most of the things people were saying were but all I was doing all day was playing with fictional data. It was just like being at Uni. :rotfl: The people are really nice, they tease the techie a lot, it's sweet. The techie was a bit hung over as well ha ha. I have windows 8 on my laptop, I HATE IT! It's a horrible thing to use. Poo. But in the 30 minutes I came home (it was date night with a close friend of mine-every monday!) I was disqualified from roughly £4 of surveys.

I'm going to concentrate on surveys now. Will read/chat/respond more tomorrow. Peaty out. x

All this talk of walking... In this weather, honestly!! Today I nearly got blown away, AND slipped over on hailstones, going to the local shop. Not a NSD for me but the money has started trickling in for the week, and I still had £96 leftover from last month!! Beats the £29 I had from the month before AND doesn't include my overtime cash.

Shall be being spent on the final xmas presents so that I can present myself properly for the December challenge :D (is that cheating? lol) Definitely paying off the £400 on Friday, possibly before depending on OH :D

Guessing Killer had a tiring day & went to bed! We shall find out soon I am sure!! - EDIT: Hello Killer!!!! Glad you had a good day and it was nice and easy. Windows 8 eugh!!! :D:D:D:D PROUD of you!!!

Thanks for the info Annie. I had a peek and then bit the bullet and listed it back on ebay. My rather unique ipod is not listed so they won't be able to give me a price on the recycling websites.

Welcome Stickles!!! Get a sig up & analyse what thing it is that is your main £3 downfall. Coffee? Sweets? Magazines? Do the challenge to cut them out for 100 days!! :D I have tried long and hard to think of a challenge I could do. Chocolate is my downfall, however I have taken to buying large bars & splitting them down into little 8 segment 'bars' in freezer bags... cheapskate hahaha! I know I couldn't go 10 days without chocolate, let alone 100!

I know I shouldn't encourage people to spend... but I think you can all probably benefit from this (by cheating I might add). You can sign up on amazon to their FREE 'Amazon Family' page. Now I know a lot of you don't have children, and a lot of the offers are tailored towards spending on kids... BUT, you get 3 months free amazon prime with it. That's 1 day free delivery on all eligible Amazon items. Sign up. Tell it you have a small child... Set yourself a reminder to cancel it in 3 months time & spend happily in the meantime. Mine runs out on 13th January... Now I cancelled it a few days ago, very swiftly via my amazon account settings... but found out today, they have very nicely left the amazon prime running til the 13th, but it won't renew and charge me £50 for the year. ALSO worth noting, I already did the free amazon prime trial way back when, this is on top of that!! :) Hope it helps!!

  • Hi, thanks for trying to recruit me, Im shy ...............

Seriously, I find that I tend to lurk cos I am awake at funny hours and miss all the conversation. But I find you all very motivating on here and the November thread, and have been thinking about my spending and stuff, and you have encouraged me to start selling again on ebay. So thank you all, and good luck in your endeavours!
