Hi Everyone
Well I've been reading with interest all your posts since this thread started and thought it was about time I piped up!
I'm 32 and have struggled with debt for about 10 years now. Last November I finally got my head out of the sand and dealt with it and proud to say I'm making a dent out of my debt.
I'm getting married next October so I'm trying to save for this as well as being debt free by next Dec so quite a mountain but I'm determined to do it. Fortunately my fiance is responsible for half of the wedding total so my total debts/savings by the end of next year is £23,541!!! Eeeek!!!!
What I have noticed about you all on here though is the support and encouragement you offer to each other is so humbling and I would love to be part of it!!Total Debt:
Loan: Oct - £5631 Nov - £6162 Jan - £6572/£18,172
CC: Oct -£5000 Nov - £5100
Wedding Savings: Oct - £3380 Nov - £4580 Dec - £6330 Jan-£8200/£18000

Hi Clara! Congratulations on getting married next year! And on getting your head out of the sand with regards to your debts. I'm sure you'll have it whipped in no time. Your sig looks good, well done on your wedding savings!!
We will all try and keep you on track, but really there is nothing better than a wedding to keep you focused!!! Don't get all bridezilla on us now

Ah thanks Lilt!! Yes I'm very excited. I think I'm the least bit bridezilla ever - I worry that I'm too laid back about it all!!
You don't have too long to go to be debt free - you must be so looking forward to that day arriving!!
My grand plan is I'm sticking to a £50 a week budget - this includes everything - food, cat food, petrol etc which I worked out and is doable. I've learnt to reign myself in and question all purchases. I'm also very good at putting all my spare change in little pots and it soon adds up.
I've also just worked out that its only 403 days till the end of 2013 which means I need to be paying £58 a day towards my total - hmmm. Not sure I will achieve this but I will aim high!!
I think this weekend I am going to have a clear out and find a load of stuff to stick on ebay!!Total Debt:
Loan: Oct - £5631 Nov - £6162 Jan - £6572/£18,172
CC: Oct -£5000 Nov - £5100
Wedding Savings: Oct - £3380 Nov - £4580 Dec - £6330 Jan-£8200/£18000

Hi clarabara and welcome :-) congratulations on your upcoming wedding :-) I started my journey in 2008 and I put the wedding as a priority so didn't do much overpaying on the lead up. Make targets achievable money doesn't build up overnight and then disappear. If only :-) any step to paying things down is a nice achievement and with ninja and her cheerleaders anything is possible lol xI AM A MONEY MAGNET, THEY ARE MAKING MORE MONEY FOR ME AS WE SPEAK:pMIKES MOB, DFW NERD 1071, DFW LHS 132!MIRACLES HAPPEN I'VE SEEN IT WITH MY OWN EYES. Ah thanks for your kind words Happy!! Sounds like you have good experience and its really nice for you to share your advice.
I think my target may be a little out of reach but I will do all I can to get there - obviously yes the wedding is a priority but I've done my budget for that and will stick to it as much as possible!Total Debt:

Anyway, hi everyone. I'm a foul !!!! mood, the ex sent back my stuff today including the first real gift I gave him. I bought him summer ball tickets (£50+ and my own!) and while it was amazing there were little fate things where I won him this dumbarse blue dog. He could have just throw it away rather than send it to me.
Good luck with all the money saving/making/shuffling everyone. I will be back when I'm not wanting to punch people.0 -

Grrr unfortunately he was probably trying to achieve the mood you are in now. So try your best to ignore it. As he is already your EX you know he isn't worth listening to.
Keep smiling hun xx0 -
