I like THIS!!!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Morning everyone,
My debt free wish is to buy a Jersey cow :rotfl:. No........Honestly..
We have a smallholding, and we have loads of work to do on it. House extensions, doing up the barn, fencing, concreting, etc etc etc etc.
BUT...........I am going to be 80 years old by the time it is finished if I don't knuckle down and clear these debt asap. All our spare cash in spent servicing debts and I won't officially be able to be Barbara Good until we have some money.
I think I am going to aim a little lower next year, I have done the sums and have no clue how I would raise 17K. So I have 6 debts and aim to kill off 4 of the worst which equals £8.5k, which I think is hopefully achieveable.
Hope everyone has a good day today, I am on a hunt today for stuff to Ebay, unfortunately I am not much of a hoarder so am going to have to be super ruthless to find stuff.

I will be asking people in my next thread what they want but am curious.. what do you have in your head when you think of being debt free...holidays..? A house..? A baby?..
Come now - tell Aunty NSK..
I love Michael McIntyre!
All of the above!! I want to be debt-free by Christmas next year then I want to focus on paying off my mortgage by June 2018. This target is my son's 10th birthday. Once that's done, the dream is to take him on an amazing holiday (Kenyan safari or Maldives white beaches or something) and blow some hard earned cash! (not MSE at all I know, but that's the dream!) then I want to save for a house with a garden (totally lacking at the min) but keep my flat and rent that out. I'd also love a baby in the future but I'm just not in the right circumstances for that at the minute, I've also considered adoption - I just think that there are so many children out there with no-one, is it fair for me to bring another baby into this world knowing that? I can also imagine uni fees will be horrendous by the time my son goes to uni (if the chooses to) so I want to be able to help him out. So, there you have it, big plans so need the tiny budget for the minute!!

Morning ladies, wow what will my plans be when I'm rid of the negative wealth. Well first my negative wealth is split unsecure and secured. One the unsecured is paid I will be overpaying the mortgage and using it as a safe place for "savings" it might achieve enough forums to clear the secured loan and a nice deposit on a home. I'm very undecided but this is for sure i will split my budget nicely an save for anything that requires more than monthly split I do not want to obtain anymore financial borrowing. I want to take my lessons here to my old age save for what you want and never accept credit lol xI AM A MONEY MAGNET, THEY ARE MAKING MORE MONEY FOR ME AS WE SPEAK:pMIKES MOB, DFW NERD 1071, DFW LHS 132!MIRACLES HAPPEN I'VE SEEN IT WITH MY OWN EYES. This is definately what I need to do. Have some patience and learn to wait and save for the things we want, instead of having to have instant gratification. :T0 -
I was an instant gratification kind of person pre lbm but I saw what damage it did and I've been learning my lessons well. I've happened to catch a post saying only paying minimum payment is deemed bad for credit score you should pay minimum payment + £1. Well I've always kept everything at minimum payment and then cleared a negative wealth in full if I'd of known £1 makes a difference I would have done it :-( ah who knows having a credit score and rating is ridiculous :-/ humph xI AM A MONEY MAGNET, THEY ARE MAKING MORE MONEY FOR ME AS WE SPEAK:pMIKES MOB, DFW NERD 1071, DFW LHS 132!MIRACLES HAPPEN I'VE SEEN IT WITH MY OWN EYES. Hi everyone, well as i've mentioned before my goal would be to have a second child when my debts are gone/more manageable, and we've also said we'd like to move house in about 10 yrs time when loans are gone and we have paid lots more years off our mortgage, although we are fortunate to have good equity on the house.
Once short term debts are gone, followed by long term loans we would plan on saving plus paying extra into our mortgage.
