  • GOOD EVENING!!!!!

Well now.. what a busy day!

Nice to see you all having a wee chat! I have had a super busy day at work and my boss sits behind me so I thought I best leave MSE'ing until tonight!!

I had to spend a bit of time hugging the household doggy cause she got smacked by my naughty tabby who got over excited chasing her ribbon ( my fault ).. then attempted to see if my 6 year old laptop would connect via an ethernet cable thingy.. no joy!

I love my little netbook by my poor eyes are going mad...

Anyhoo I hear what you are saying Happy.. I was wondering when it would all end. I am super duper hard on myself and sometimes find it very difficult to have fun..seriously I would actually feel guilty.. so I might plan a PROPER holiday for my 30th. My last holiday was June last year for a friends wedding and that was not relaxing.. its been relentless work since then, overtime whenever I could, working weekends and not relaxing...

So you are right.. I need to chill a little bit but I am REALLY looking forward to going home to Ireland and being pampered...and sleeping until noon...and drinking Irish water tea cause its nicer than London water...:):):)

Annie I LOL'd at your comment about your son..
"But Madam he looks like he's at least 12 years old"..
"He developed REALLY fast, can we just go for a swim please"...:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Killer I really love your humour.. especially when you say something called Rotaract was fun! ..:p..I'm kidding although I can imagine you sat in your house surrounded by motherboards, wires, hard drives and key-boards with your little head poking out the top...Your Dad sounded like a proper genius no wonder you are so smart!! And I am sure you could find a pond somewhere for free...( check out the Open Swim Society )...:T:T:T

Lilt ...OOOOOOOOH Christmas Tree time!!! My brother always tries to get the tree up and decorated before I come home cause he knows full well twinkling lights amuse me... but ours is fake, slightly bent each year and I would kill for a real one back home. One year here in London when I was in my own flat I got myself a 6ft horrendously wide real tree that amused !!!!! cat no end and was all white and silver decorations... Brilliant!!

I love my ipod, have it in my ears on the bike... the acoustics inside a helmet are amazing I sound positively professional...ahem.. I do forget sometimes to stop singing when at light...car drivers with windows open and passing pedestrians beware!!! I have mis-placed my head-phones having placed them out of way of "grabby tabby" who likes chewing things.. now I can't find them!

Anyway I have two people looking at things on eBay and realise my invoice does not have to be paid until the 30th November ( payday ) so that can be budgeted in before it happens....phew!

Right this is way too long.... Hugs and kisses...Will check back soon! I actually get to sleep in tomorrow...

    Onwards and Upwards..

    Good morning to you all,
Ive been very busy and couldnt get online till this morning. As was planning to do my signature and budgets on sunday but, in laws called they needed me to drive them around as they were looking for a car. Half day gone. Another few hours spent doing food shopping. Spent £2 over my budget of £50 but actuly got £78 worth of food as i had plenty of coupons. Saved on petrol as well as tesco was giving 10 pence off fuel, so i managed to get 4 vouchers. I now have tank full of fuel and it cost me £48 instead of £62. And it was under my budget of £50. Back home i cooked dinner, kids bath and bed and collapsed on soffa with hubby to watch xfactor. Unfortunately i woke on monday with sore throut and no voice. Spent most of the day in bed. Luckily was off. Very busy tuesday at work and than had to drive MIL to pick the car. hopefully this eve i will be able to post my numbers. Have to run as need to go to work. And its bloody raining. I want to live in barbados. I need sunshine. Cheerio.

Afternoon everyone  how are you all today? I have nothing exciting to report - just working and number crunching! If I've calculated correctly kat, next Tuesday (27th) is the 400 day mark of the challenge (or day 57 if you're working the other way around), so I'm using that as the deadline for getting rid of the Virgin mastercard and moving on to debt number 2! Debt number 2 will be gone by the end of the year and I'll be cracking on with debt number 3 by the time 2013 comes along :D

For the purposes of this challenge, I'm going to make my overdraft debt number 3 in the hope that clearing it will help me get a 0% credit card for balance transfers. I visited my branch recently (unlike NI, it's a nameless faceless place and I'm just an account number) and they offered me a 0% card. I initially said no because it's impossible for me to get credit because I owe so much. The Teller told me that he could see that I fall into the 'maybe' category so it may be worth him pursuing it for me. I agreed, spend about 40 minutes on the phone to their nameless faceless call centre who told me 'computer says no'. She asked quite a lot of questions about my overdraft, so maybe in clearing that, it might gain me a few extra points on their scale of credit worthiness?

So, next Tuesday...£180 to clear from the Virgin card. Should be fine as I have lots of little bits and pieces of money coming in via ebay sales, Quidco etc and a few other sources so that should be do-able. I think I get paid on the 29th so it'll be back to the spreadsheet to see how much I can afford to pay off before December starts.

Like you kat, I'm running with the momentum of the challenge at the minute. There's enough leeway built in to stop me burning out (worked every day in November except one but have some time off at New Year to spend with my family so I can chill - and eat soda bread). As I recall from previous years, January is always tough so puts the brakes on any spending anyway and February is a short month so it's always a good month for debt busting. I'll review things in March (when I've killed debts one, two and three....oh, and maybe number four as well??)

Look at that, I've rambled on again :D
  • Hey all! I have been lurking for a long time ( since page 3) and thought I would join and say hello. The leader Kat has inspired me to look at our finances. I was glad to read that I'm not the only one who has a spreadsheet for their yearly finances!

Will post more details as I am at work now on the mobile,

    Be good

Hey Spud :hello: welcome! I'm doing the male/female debate in my head and coming up with female? Although, my ex used to always say be good instead of goodbye (don't know why, I was always good!!) - ha ha, wouldn't it be funny if you were him :rotfl:

I intend to reply with bells on later tonight. I shall have to fore-go my Wednesday evening fun-times and head home on the bike due to the inclement weather and how much is really scares me...

Torrential rain, having to ride with one hand now and then as the other is wiping ones visor with one's left hand. All while plowing through traffic on slippery roads for cars to whip past you and pull in front. Add into this equation severe wind as it is today and your visor getting covered before you re-grasp your handle bar to break cause a pedestrian thinks they can "beat" you across the road.

Then there is the darkness and most riders assumption's that motorbike headlights are not strong enough - they aren't!!!... if a car is in front of me and doesn't turn their lights down the road directly in front of me disappears. This is horrifically frightening with the above mentioned weather conditions....

If a car is behind me and doesn't turn his lights down they bounce off my wing mirrors ( closer together than a car ) and blind me meaning I either have to accelerate to get away from said car or break for him to over-take me....

Boo Hiss I need a magic carpet...!!

  • The rain has eased off and I am contemplating how many "free offers" I can apply to on TopCashBack..?
