Congrats Stud! It's great that you want to get all prepared! Please feel free to vent/message/ask questions : )
@Lubava: No one will judge you! That'd be counter-productive, the reason why I come onto this forum is because everyone is so supportive and nice.
@lilt: I wasn't actually allowed on a computer unsupervised until I was 16, macs were a lot more expensive back in my childhood so any time anyone was touching a computer was tense ha ha.
@StGood: I'd like to hear how you plan to do christmas : ) In my family we've decided to use my mum's christmas bonus (can only spend in her place) on the turkey/meat with her discount. All chocolates and bits will hopefully come from approved foods and then the veg will hopefully be covered else where : )
@kat: Go for the perfume! Go for it go for it go for it!
@Happy: at least if you're busy you're not bored/spending. : P
@Annie: yay for extra hours and possible new job!!
hi again Sholly! You're doing amazingly! Whoop whoop.
I'm £2.25/3.50 into my daily survey goal. My brother and sister-in-law are here and I have been accepted for the Halifax reward account! Whoop whoop!0 -

Its a tough challenge but its something that will keep me motivated.
Lack of motivation and stay power are my worst enemies.

Good morning all. I fell asleep at 8.30 this evening (an hour after le bebe) so in true rock and roll fashion i thought I'd catch up with everyone.
Hi again Sholly! Well done you, that's fantastic!!
Steph, welcome! That's a huge goal but more than doable! I've cut £1000 a year off my bills over the last few weeks & I didn't even have sky or anything to get rid of! Start with the obvious stuff and cut back as far as you can!!
Lubavu (my iPhone renamed you Lunacy - don't take that personally but it did make me smile!) no one is here to judge. Everyone is here because they are in a similar position. Buying a house is a fantastic and worthwhile achievement and having the one you can see yourself in forever is even better! You aren't throwing money into a neverending rent drain like me; you will have something to show for it! So get positive, screw what the family think, and start to think positive over what you've achieved. In no time you'll be back on your feet. Stick with Kat and you'll probably have it paid off in half the time!!!
Killer - lol I wish we had macs, my first pc was a dinosaur at brand new and cost £1600 - which was ridiculous money in my family. We had it mainly for solitaire for the first 2 years hahaha. And LOL at the whip cracking sound effects..
I have been naughty naughty naughty. My daughter needed a new snowsuit as she has finally outgrown her 3-6 months one... She did not need it to be a fluffy brown gruffalo suit. £14 isn't bad though in all honesty and it is adorable as well as super snuggly! I only feel bad because I barely buy anything for her, most of it is parents, aunties and uncles splashing their much more available cash! I did my usual and picked up 4 items I wanted but didn't need and then didn't look at the cost or my receipt at allI know they were cheap or I wouldn't have got them... But still. Finance app will beat me tomorrow. Bought new work shoes for.... £1... And actually I was going to put them back when my friend took them and paid. Bless her
Cut my OH hair today. I'm getting good at this, cut it into a really fashionable footballer styleconsidering the same cut used to cost us £15 every 4 weeks I'm happy he's happy lol! The clippers cost £22 months back, we are way into moneysaving now!!!
Huge post, apologies, can't sleep... Lol! Night all x

Good Morning Kittens..
I am so tired thank goodness its Friday. No OT booked for me this weekend so I will be taking it easy.
I found this this morning and thought the second paragraph into the story was superb..McIntyre — who is rather more serious and practical than he allows audiences to see, hiding behind his bouncy, giggly on-stage persona — even kept a spreadsheet to track his outgoings, while obsessively checking supermarkets for the cheapest food bargains.:T:T:T
Not just us then eh!! I bet despite his millions he will still do this..
I have ideas for the next challenge in my wee head but am wondering how on earth I am going to earn money in the month of December. I have items on eBay at the moment but am running out of things to sell. I have an overtime shift booked on the 1st ( night shift ) and am tempted to book another on the 2nd but that would be pushing it..( although I need to yes..?? )..Maybe I will have to tighten things a little but just don't think I will be getting paid as much as I did this month although am under-estimating this just in case. I will CRY if it is less than this..
So leading up to the end of the year I make plans regarding what I want in the year ahead.. last time I did this properly I was on a train heading from Siberia to Mongolia.. lots of spare time and lots of thinking space and I managed to create a list. This list was achieved within the following year. If I make plans, list them and be realistic then I get what I want.
I will be asking people in my next thread what they want but am curious.. what do you have in your head when you think of being debt free...holidays..? A house..? A baby?..
Come now - tell Aunty NSK..
Onwards and Upwards Kittens..

My debt free goal is to start purchasing real furniture. I have an amazing sofa and my tv unit is not bad although flat pack but the rest of my flat is second hand freebies from friends, old landlady & neighbours. My bed cost £156 including mattress so you can imagine the quality... Mattress is great actually, bed may as well have been made from cocktail sticks..
So yeah. First furniture, then move somewhere that has a garden for the little ladystill renting mind you.
Then I'll win the euromillions and buy a giant houseand one for each of you
