Wow milly, that looks fab!!!! Not so good for my thighs, but fab for a night in on the sofa! I have a friend coming to stay one weekend next month - she's one of the friends that knows about my debt and is amazing. She'll gladly stay in and have home cooked food and chats on my new sofa! I can send her home with leftover pumkin cheesecake0

Its surprising how many people are feeling the crunch
i think its time for a cup of tea
i think my friend isnt very mse savy she doesnt seem to have boundaries on her spending shes in manageable debt so to speak because incomes are good but she worries alot ive tried to advise her sometimes but i dont think she is really at a lbm so to speak, you know the phase where you assume its ok to have some amount of debt... we have all been there funny what a lbm can do to people.. my lovely husband and i often discuss what we will do when we are free of the negative wealth and im not a big spender i dont think il splurge on a designer bag but i did say i would over compensate at xmas and birthdays for us
im really hoping i can be a good saver........ ninja how much do you plan on saving for a home ?? siou what are your plans post negative wealth ?? x

I have friends with no LBM in sight too. One has two full time jobs because she panicked about owing £10k, but has spent every single extra penny she earned on what I can only describe as stuff. She now has £12k debt and is knackered  I've tried to help but she's not ready yet. When she asks how I do it, she tells me she can't live without her manicures and haircuts etc and she needs a new outfit for the weekend. Like your friend happy, it's manageable but only because she has a great income at the minute.
I don't think I'll be a splurger either post-negative wealth! I'd like to move house, still renting because the house prices in the London area are huuuuuge. I'll probably save for a deposit on a house near where my parents are. I'll still live here, but pop over to stay for a week or so every few months. That way, I'll get to see more of them plus I'll have something for my retirement because, obviously being a MSE'r, I'll aim to pay the mortgage off before it's due0 -
Ah yes i totally agree il be overpaying the mortgage, we are in our own flat and i will half overpay half save because i want access to the money when its time to move and we cant always gurentee a sale
but i want to be comfortable. It would be no good buying an unaffordable home to spend 10 years making ends meet, ive done my time with unmanageable numbers so to speak lol x Infact my negative wealth start point is probably some peoples mortgages lol crazy isnt it :-) x

I will tell you all now you have every reason to be scared! Lol! Just arrived at a friends house so this is short.. I've just spent the last two hours freezing to death on the M1. Within that time I have manifested some rules and ideas for the following..
"....Just Say NOvember! Batten Down The Hatches"...
Only for the Truly Brave and Truly Ruthless!
There are rules about what this is and what this isn't! It'll be posted Saturday early morning on my night shift! It's gonna be a new thread as it'll end at the 30th November 2012 @ midnight! This thread will keep running until December 2013!
What will I do post debts..? You'll just have to wait until tomorrow for that...
Onwards and Upwards!!!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".0 -
Quaking in my boots, just like my debts must be  Go kat!!!!
Have a fun night tonight0 -
I am eager to find out your plan Kat, but not sure I am brave enough to join in,maybe I will watch from the sidelines and cheer you on, while making attempts myself, oh dear I may have just joined in without really knowing what I am doing.
I really enjoy your diary and read as often as I can, but often don't have anything important to add, I love the stories though from you all and they are really inspiring me to do better.Been here for a long time and don't often post
