Congrats on the insurance, fingers crossed it will be a big cut down!

Also yay for new phone? I don't know if it's a good or bad thing, I'd be lost without the notes on my phone.

RE: interview, I didn't get it. As soon as I said that I had gone to Uni both interviewers were not impressed, saying that they don't want to train me just for me to leave after 2 months. It was a christmas temp job! I looked on the M&S site before hand and they said that last year one in five temps became permanent, so really I was unlikely to get a permanent job regardless.
I just want a job, I'm so bored.

    Hope you're all well.
  • Killer what a pain in the rear end.. they will end up getting some dead-weight that won't know how to count for toffee. Something will come up soon don't you worry - start selling everything that isn't nailed down to keep you amused...

Was it through a temp agency or off your own searching results..?

I know! I asked a girl where the information desk was and she couldn't speak English well enough to understand what I was asking. Though she was very nice and helpful so I really can't begrudge her of her job. : )

I'm not part of a temp agency yet, a few of my friends had joined the ones around here and had bad experiences. So I'm probably being over critical of them ha ha.

    How is your ebaying going?
Does not going to your work canteen affect you socially? It never affected me at uni to not buy a cup of tea but then it's a very different world isn't it. :o
  • Killer it's such a large building I'm not missed! My immediate colleagues all bring their own food and drinks do I'm lucky... And I'm outta the office now and trudging around London! Got my travel mug full of tea with me to save pennies but am in the worst possible shoes!!

Hey everyone, glad you're all ok :D Sorry about the job killer. You're right, you will get a job eventually. And, sometimes things turn out to be blessings in disguise. Something better will show that you would have missed if you got that job! Plugging along is a good plan :)

Enjoy your time at your parents happy! Free food and drink - the best kind :D

Kat, have you thought about doing mystery shopping during your time killing session every Wednesday? There's a board with info on all the companies and all their website details. Some companies reimburse meals (might be good now it's starting to get a bit colder. You'll not be wanting to eat your packed lunch in Trafalgar Square for much longer!) and some are for actual assignments where you get a brief to follow and report back on your findings. Some jobs can be quite time consuming and some don't pay a lot, but if you've got time on your hands it might be a good way of keeping out of trouble and earning a few ££ while you do it! Although, I have to admit, London is a fab place to kill time for free :D

After my lazy day, I'm having a lazy evening. Was waiting for the chair guy to come but he's not here. He did say he may get caught in traffic so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt - even though I skipped my Aqua Zumba class and am currently back on my sofa munching into the free chocolate I got yesterday :EasterBun I may give him a call actually cos I'm dying to get into my PJs :rotfl:

Oh, and I found out today that I'm getting a partial refund for a site I subscribe to (my guilty pleasure :silenced:) as it's now going to be free for everyone so I should get about £20ish refunded in the next few days :j

Hoping my payslip gets published tomorrow so I can see how much short it is. I hate not doing my money shuffle cos I have to keep it all just in case I need it. Hopefully tomorrow will see calculators, lists, transfer of much monies and an update of my signature when I know what's what. This is much more fun than spening money - isn't there a real buzz knowing you're paying off debt? Do I need to get out more :rotfl:
  • Well a very good morning to you all!

Apologies for the lack of contact last night.. my little iphone died, I got home at 2330, and following a very delightful "snack" of pickles / cheese / crackers and grapefruit segments one hit the hay at 0030 - only to be back up at 0500. Come on - you know you've eaten a weirder concoction!:D

So I wandered through the Imperial War Museum yesterday. Greatest respect for our boys and girls serving their country... but I stood firm in the face of great temptation - books about Vintage Clothing! I bought nothing, no food, no water so its another NSD ... yet I sat below the London Eye and ate some liquorice sent over by Mummy that I forgot I had in my bag, a mint choccie bar bought in bulk from Approved Foods and more grapefruit segments from a jar. I am so cool!

Anyhoooo - I was naughty this morning, since no monies were required for the First Aid - this morning I ventured to the canteen for 3 hash browns, fried bread and an egg - £1.55.

You have no idea how guilty I feel - truly awful. But I currently have £71.50 left of £80. I am honestly amazed though that my petrol has lasted this long. I do a 50 mile round trip a day and was expecting to have to tank up last night before heading home... That means I have got 175 miles out of £22.22 worth of petrol ( see how exact I am )...

SO - I have £13 of my petrol fund left for the month. RAC route planner says it will take £28 to get to the 30th birthday party but this is for a car and I know there is no way it will cost this much for me - so I think £13 should get me home with possibly £5 to take me through to Wednesday payday..

The change in my insurance hasn't materialized yet but I was told it would take up to 24 hours. I have realized then that this month is the first where I have actually managed to end the month with money in my account and not running myself down to my absolute last pennies... I have yet to update my spreadsheet properly as a few things have manifested that I will need to pay for ( more bike work )...

However this is an amazing feeling! Without my increase in overdraft I have £123 left but I don't want to lift it out of my account just yet..however since this is OD money I shouldn't really move it from there to my CC.. but since I am having the entire amount repaid by the end of the year I may as well save myself the pennies that will accrue in interest by having £160 left on the CC...

So there you go.. I will eating a lot tonight though but will choose carefully. I might even have porridge soon to fill me up as planned to stop me overindulging...

    Wish me luck!:rotfl:
