I'm alright, keeping on keeping on. My savings have just about passed 10k, but will decrease soon as I'm self funding a course.

How do you get a cu to fund a course? How's the kittycat?

    How is everyone?
  • Peaty I can't believe you have £10K saved - that's amazing! Are you driving yet? And what course are you aiming for .? Is the firbo behaving itself...?

Kittycat was being fed too much so was starting to look like a tubby tabby.. although I stopped buying her nice biscuits and curbed it before it before she got too fat.. She didn't understand "pace yourself"...:rotfl:

I met the CU woman at a town fair. My church had a stall and was handing out flyers for an open day and I was going to do a little "debt busting" talk. The CU lady noticed this and came over for a chat - it turned out she could not help us on the day ( which was what I was after - leaflets etc ) but since we spoke about MSE she contacted me a couple of weeks later on here would you believe saying they have a short course coming up... it was my enthusiam that got her attention she said as this is not something you can teach...:T.. So fingers crossed that will happen early next year...

What's next on the plan for you Peaty - what course are you aiming for?

Indebted that little house is amazing isn't it. I could probably build one on my land back home. I keep telling my Dad that renting out a wee hut or static gypsy style wagon to "the city folk" would bring in a little money.. although a lot of for just him... I just want to embrace minimalism now and live more in ture with nature....HIPPY ALERT...:rotfl:... or just have my own house... :(

Feeling proper rough today... achy all over with no gym sessions behind me to justify it. Clearly coming down with something so I have a hot water bottle ( pink and fluffy ) resting on my back, a hot lemon and agave nectar on the go ( vegan you know ).. and will be heading home to bed later... Might be over doing it a little.....

Right I think payslips are out... it always makes me nervous looking at them..... Be back shortly....

    oh oh
    IT's THE FINAL COUNTDOWN!!!

He he, I've been singing this every morning Kat - only one more day to go :D I thought I'd give everyone the opportunity to sing it loud tomorrow on your final day in debt-land! Kinda like a flash mob, a virtual synchronised karaoke...who's up for it?

I understand what you mean by saying it might be a bit of an anti-climax. But there are a few things to consider here:

    1. What an amazing journey you've been on - you've done exactly what you said you were going to do with a thousand hurdles thrown in your path. You've cleared an eye watering amount of debt in such a short space of time and you've inspired hundreds of people along the way!

    2. You have the joy of manually making that final payment on Friday - that's got to be uber satisfying!

    3. You can be like the Queen with her two birthdays and have two debt free dates - Friday when you make the last payment and Monday when the last DD leaves your account and you owe £0!

    4. The super excited faces on us chickadees waiting at the finish line for you to cross, ready to [STRIKE]cheer[/STRIKE] roar with pride!

    5. You have something to save for straight away so it's not like you'll suddenly have loads of save money each month to waste. That would trigger the anti-climactic feeling. You're stepping straight on to the next step of your amazing journey. A step you've made happen by your unbeatable determination.

Hmm, looks like I'll need a new song to sing from Friday :)

Hurrah Peaty, great to hear from you again :j And £10k? That's amazing! Well done. Are you hanging around this time or heading back to lurkdom? Oh, do stay.....

It's payday for me tomorrow and I'm looking forward to knocking a sizable chunk off my debt :T I've worked it out to within an inch of it's life and after the midnight money shuffle, I'll be left with £5.52 that doesn't really fit anywhere so I'm going to use it to buy a yummy smoothie next time I'm in Covent Garden :)

Hey siouxsie! I may be about more, I get very tired though. Your debt is falling so far! Congruwelldone!

Kat, interesting. I hadn't realised that you did a talk, just remember if you get a tv show I will always provide some content for you. :)

I have to go! Will speak more later.
  • Morning Kat Today is the last day you will go to bed being in debt. What an achievement for you, to slay that amount of debt in such a short time. In addition, you have dragged us lot along with you and so many people will end 2013 in a much better money position than they could have imagined, thanks to you and your mighty challenges. I can't thank you enough for how you have helped me.

You should be so proud of yourself for tackling this head on, and you have found out what a brilliant motivator you are.

I'll be counting down the hours for you and will do a little dance of joy when your pay day dawns, I will be so happy for you. SL x :T:T:T:j:j:j
PS well done your boss on the treasure hunt, hope they were vegan sweets!

    I AM DEBT FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!
    Whooooohoooooooooooo!!!!!

I still have a dizzy head but I am happy. I have been drinking grape juice like Mummy used to give me when I was sick and "replacing my fluids".

SO I rang my bank via my phone banking system and sat here waiting for a call back. Michelle from my bank needed a quick email sent to her which I did while I was on the phone, within minutes the £540 which ended up at £556 which included interest was wiped out of my current account and the "personal loan" section on my internet banking was GONE!!!

So that's it. The debt is gone. Not sure how I will or whether I should celebrate....

    Gonna call Mummy though....back soon....
