  • Is it weird that my celebration is staying in, with moggy and a dinner of chips, sausages and peas... in my book that's a bit naughty so a "treat"... oh and I just bought a jar of gherkins...

See I am living life on the edge.... least my appetite is coming back...

Awwww you guys are so lovely! I couldn't have done it without you all though! Every single one of you - even the ones I have only known a few months - have been imperative in my debt free journeying and made it all worthwhile...

My 5 year sabbatical has been approved.

It almost slipped through the net with all this debt freedom excitement.

So on the 1st October 2014 I will be leaving my job. The plans will be entirely unravelled in the next diary but for now I plan to transport minimal amounts of items (de-cluttering in progress), and my cat via friends who said they will hire a camper van and drive me over. I will also have to sell my motorbike. It doesn't seem viable keeping it in storage and I want no physical ties to the UK.

My friends will stay with me and my family for a few weeks and we will travel around Northern Ireland a bit and I will stay with my parents for a month. From there the world is my oyster....South East Asia and on to Australia... from there I am open to suggestions...

I will be hooking up with my church wherever possible and working as much as I can as a volunteer in exchange for food and lodgings.. living on a basic sum and stretching my money as far as I can.

I will hook up with the Tran-Siberian Railway again and explore countries on my own... the Lord will be my guiding light...

So there you go.. that's my plan. I just need a lot of money first. :)

Have been following your journey from the sidelines but called in to say  Well done hunny, you have done an amazing job and inspired a lot of others to do what they can to make their lives easier by battling their debts. You are amazing and I hope you sabbatical is everything you want it to be. Hugs Ginny
