Indebted, glad to see things are going in the right direction for you. With the people on this forum, the only way really is up! Especially when you get involved with one of Kat's threads!
Peaty, well done on telling colleagues about your FMA. That must have been incredibly hard, but at least it was done over drinks & not around the office water cooler. Best of all, now you have told some, you probably won't need to tell anyone else, or if someone who isn't aware tries to get you to do something too much for you, others will be there to defuse for you, saving you the embarrassment hopefully!!
Sounds like an awesomely cheap night out. Aren't mums taxis the best?! I've not lived at home in 10 years & yet the last time my parents came to visit, my dad ferried me to the cinema & back
I re-booted my diary the other day & am quite enjoying blabbing all my random incoherent thoughts into it. Hopefully it will pull some of the weight of replying to my outbursts from you guys
Just as a random thing though (Indebted look away now) - my face is back to almost normal thanks to steroids & I was able to wear eyeliner for the first time today since eating the artichokes a month back! So happyI have eyes again! Lol.
I'm off to bed. Hope you all had a good Sunday - mine was AWESOME

Ok so I've just had a little shock back into reality
I knew it was coming and I'm not sure of the full details yet as I will need to speak to the mortgage company.......(this is the joint debt I was talking about). The ex ran up debts with rent which got added onto our mortgage..... I won't go into full details as don't want to be recognised as much as poss.
But our mortgage term has now come to an end and when I last spoke to the mortgage company they told me what the interest rate would be and it would actually be a tad less than what we were locked in at basically, now I don't know why but it seems I've been charged approx. £30 more than the usual payments. £30 isn't much in the grand scheme of things but considering I split with the ex nearly 3 years ago now and he ran up these debts which I am paying off, been paying the mortgage and what not on my own for the last year and a half or so. My credit rating is shot to pieces as is his and I just feel like I'm stuck in limbo, currently no point in appointing a solicitor because I don't have the funds to buy him out/too much debt to even get considered for a mortgage on my own.......I am due a payrise in Oct which I am hoping will help, but also doubtful due to dmp etc.
So I currently just feel like I am stuck in a bottomless pit of never ending rubbish, had a rubbish weekend too and this was before I just realised the above as I got a noddle account and had a butchers at that and have been looking at figures constantly....this month alone I have made in total a £500+ payment towards the mortgage arrears. I am trying to fix things, but just feel like I'm on a never ending battle. Blurgh......sorry just came for a rant really as probably won't sleep much now and the main panicky thing is, what if interest rates sky rocket? What would I do? I don't feel very secure right nowMFW 2018/19 #55 target: £6,847.26/ £500 paid0 -
Hugs to Unicorns, I know that feeling when you feel life is spiralling out of control and you feel insecure about it all. Try not to worry too much (easier said than done i know) until you've spoken to the mortgage company xx
Lilt: I'm saving up points for pressies but I'm nowhere near your total, well done!0 -
Thank you his missus
I rang the mortgage company and the extra £30 is what was left of the extra I was paying basically. As of next month without any arrears my mortgage payments would have been £280 wowwee! But with the arrears I have agreed to pay £444 pm until my next review which is actually £5 less than what I have been paying them.... so that's all a lot more positive than what I was thinking last night
The other scary bit was being free without a fixed interest rate but there's not much I can do about that at the moment but the positive side of it is if they do change the interest rates they give you 3 months notice. They also told me before I wasn't paying any interest on the arrears but today I was told I'm getting charged £9 pm.
So I shall continue to try get it all paid off asap but just really really hope and keep my fingers crossed that interest rates don't sky rocket until I can get the mortgage at a fixed rate in my own name.MFW 2018/19 #55 target: £6,847.26/ £500 paid0 -
Hello everyone, how are you all? Thanks so much for the birthday wishes! Feeling a bit crappy about being 30 but will have to deal with it. Could be worse! Got paid, have had 2 NSD's and got a weekend out of my sister who paid for all food etc. Aw bless. £800 for bills in current account, £400 into ISA and set aside £300 to live on -had to spend £60 on train tickets/railcard to my sisters. So have £240 to live on (about £100 on food) -roll on the recipe search, cooking skills improvement! Just saw NSK for a bit which was lovely as our crazy shift patterns get in the way. Hope everyone is ok. :jDebt free. House deposit £75k. Oct 24 have moved to Scotland. 2025 start house purchase. Do overtime, get salary increases- to £41k then £48k0

Good Evening Kittens...
I have had a day off work. Do I feel rested. Nope I don't! But I got a few things done today and got a lie in at least.
Am watching Skint... I am feeling compelled to do something for the ones that need it! I just don't know what. I did mention at one point that I was going to visit the local borough food distribution centre. Due to work I haven't been able to but might make an effort to do that this week. Not sure what use I will be or what will come of it but apparently they need volunteers to sort and stack the food. Jack Monroe had an article on her website about just how many people rely on it... Hmmm something to think about..
Siouxsie your shopping is almost exactly the same as mine on the challenge thread..how weird! :T.. Lilt you will be glad to know I actually have food in the house no. I managed to pick up broccoli, tom's with 2 free, very expensive bread for 69p (19p over my 50p limit rule but worth it) a smashed can of kidney beans for 11p, and 22p white pitta for 22p instead of the brown for 70p (naughty but would rather soend pennies on vegetables..) ... the rest is from my last list I posted...
I have realised that the boys in Tescos respond well to a person asking about "when the yellow sticker veg comes out" when one is wearing a low cut top...:rotfl:...so as much as I said I would do a trawl of the SM's I managed one Tesco a bus ride away, a massive one, realised they didn't have my porridge oats OR tom's in tins so put it all back and left for the one closer to my house which is smaller to get everything! Effort I tell you but I refuse to give them £3 for a delivery...
I am trying to make myself pretty by the way... hair being dyed at the moment, nails will be painted tonight and rollers will be in for bed..:rotfl:..and I wonder why I am single...
Unicorns...a stupid question (forgive me).. but has the ex entirely disappeared..? Why would you worry about buying him out if he is refusing to pay the debt he run up - would they cancel each other out..? Have you spoken to a solicitor about this or the citizens advise bureau..? I am so angry for you that you are struggling, and paying back money for this waster that's just left you to it...
Indebted...I love the attack mode mentality you are currently exhibiting! Since you are around the M25 and into spreadsheets and number crunching shall we just get married now assuming your aren't gay or married already....:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:...kidding... what is important is the mindset of being able to do this for yourself, make changes now rather than waiting and for the greater good. I am doing all this in order to get my own little home.. I am the only one that can change things for me and it was a case of taking hold now or never.. well done on making a change in your life..."The only limit is the one you set yourself"...(redbull ad just on Tv quote)..:T
So I passed the local antiques store today ( not on purpose I swear ) to have a look at the jewellery. I have been taken by the idea I had the other day of buying myself an antique watch with "Onwards and Upwards" inscribed on the back when I am debt free... got distracted by an opal ring with 18ct white gold (Indebted this has nothing to do with my suggestion above..).. only £3950!!.. I could buy it if I wasn't in debt... moving on...
Oooh before I forget.... I did something very penny-pincher frugal miserly today.. I bought my blue top milk instead of the usual green top. Then watered it down... two bottles in the freezer and one in the fridge.. 4 pints now 8. Weird.. I don't care.. in tea with milk and porridge with honey it really doesn't matter...:T:T:T..saw it on the old style board..if they can do it...:)
Right I gotta have a shower.. might watch some Zombies in bed tonight. Oh I know how to live I do...

Ah, I was just sitting down to catch up with everyone/update with my musings when I checked my Field Agent App and there are a load of jobs near me to be done tonight. I ask you then fellow nutters, what loons go out at night just to earn a quick £25 (the moral way
). Right then, I'll be back in an hour (assuming I don't get arrested for loitering like a loon!)

Back safely! Easy peasy money (unless you care what people think of you, in which case it was probably a difficult assignment!). I just had to take photos of some billboards - generally by bus stops or busy roads - so a few funny looks, but if I did them okay, they'll get approved tomorrow and the cash'll be in my bank account in a few days and my Opus Mastercard will magically be below £3000
Right now, where was I...
Look at you girls going all flirty since we have a boy onboard! How did the hair/nail session turn out Kat? Are you going to get extra discounts from the Yellow Sticker man?duesouthtwin2 wrote: »Feeling a bit crappy about being 30 but will have to deal with it.
I wouldn't worry too much Unicorns about the mortgage rate jumping. The current rate will stay until at least the end of the year I reckon, maybe even beyond. Most lenders aren't touching their SVR rate so I reckon you will be fine with your current arrangement (even if you are paying an extra £9 interest on your arrears each month ) and you'll be in a much more positive place if the rates ever do change.
Not much to report from Siouxsie's world - just busy earning those pennies and not spending anything. I managed a whole day in London with no lunch and a headache and I managed not to spend a penny :T In fact, I found one! Just a dusty 1p piece which is now in my secret coin jar...must update the spreadsheet0
