Hello all,
Kat, I agree with you completely on the approved foods issue - everytime I look the items I would buy are cheaper to buy in town and in date (I can hoard them at the back of the cupboard for longer then)
I never get any YS bargains anymore, the local Co-op used to be fab for them on my way home but now they're just knocking pence off, sometimes you can even buy the YS-were-multibuy-offers cheaper on the multibuy offer!
Looking forward to the Sparta challenge, haven't saved as much as I'd like to have done from May's pay packet and am really going to try and get my shopping budget down. It is going to be tough as Hubby's on one of his health kicks and insists on lots of expensive salad and fruit so it's going to be a fun challenge for me
Cat's tooth has finally fallen out so I won't need to make an expensive trip to the vets. In fact, I'm sure he heard me say "2 more days then I'm making a vet's appointment" and knocked it out himself somehow :rotfl:0 -

I can imagine a crisis intervention team meeting at midnight on top of the local restaurants bins discussing how best to avoid He Who Should Not Be Named... talking especially revolves around ways in which to remove said tooth....( a slap perhaps or string around the tooth and attached to a tree branch before the neighbours dog is released...I'd run!!!...) .. perhaps he went for the never fail option of twist and pull.. with those opposable thumbs Cravendale have us concerned about...:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Oh look there goes my imagination... Moving on...
Wages are in.. £48 less that I thought was coming my way.. although £41 will be refunded by the Student Loan Company as soon as I manage to send a copy of it to them...Treats!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Ha ha Kat! I'm not sure what he did to avoid the vets but I'm glad he did. I did have visions of my cats all in a circle meowing "You punch him" "No, urgh I'm not doing it, you do it" "One of you do it or I'm going to the vets!!" The tooth was completely horizontal, I don't know how it was still holding on in there.
Well I'm on my way to saving at last. Transferred £300 to my ISA and Hubby has put £100 in his. He's also trying to save £100 in his secondary bank account each month so he can pay a chunk off the mortgage in a few months time. We'll see how that goes.0 -
Evening ladies
I have the sofa & tv buttons to myself, OH is on his playstation in the part of our living room designated man-cave.. (lovely desk, comfy deskchair, 32 inch tv on the wall, playstation, laptop & router to plug all his pretties into) - DD is in bed fast asleep for the last couple of hours. I have left over naan bread & ovaltine & am comforted by the knowledge that chocolate is only in the kitchen should I need itbliss!
Went to see rental house today. It was WEIRD. Odd shaped rooms, strange smell, incredibly strange "friend of the landlord" showing me round, who had far too little english and hair/wig which was literally matted into one giant furball. She kept touching it too... I was waiting for an animal to fall out  - needless to say we won't be moving there! Have redoubled my efforts at saving £500 per month - then next January we can look for something good enough for us!
HM - LOL at the cat. The V word used to get little ears pricking in my household. Perversely, my dog loved the vet. He loved standing on the scales to be weighed- hooray for your savings too!
hope your hubby manages to keep the money. My OH spends on average £11 per month... on his phone bill. Hence why he keeps all the savings in his accounts. Tight as a ducks...
Kat I am pleased to see your spinach! I love baby spinach & nutrients-wise it can't really be beaten so you did the right thing. Really sad to see no porridge though. Brown rice & honey sounds a good if odd brekkie - will do as a substitute for the week eh. OH text me a pic of his breakfast today... I asked a colleague what she thought it looked like & we agreed on bananas & custard... only to discover it was chicken soup with ready salted crisps stuck in it... Blergh!
Work again the morrow. Today I took inspiration from your lovely self Kat & wore a DRESS! With lovely wedge heels & nude tights. This has never been done. In 4 years I have never worn a dress to my office.... Now I know why. I was accused of being pregnant by colleagues because I had brought in decaf coffee (reducing allergens!) & tonnes of junk food (taking 6 steroid tabs a day for the face & have to be taken with food). How nice to turn up in a dress and be mistaken for being pregnant all in the same day. The only thing that made it better was a text from handsome (rather metrosexual) male colleague telling me I was distracting him with my sexy secretary look. Mission accomplished!
Off I wander... night all! xxx

Lilt this is so funny! So glad you are dressing the way you want.. the pregnant comments probably came from jealous monsters... but love the fact a colleague had to tell you you looked sexy - OH YEAH!!! :T... Yesterday for me was super tight jeans and a little cleavage... I love distracting the senior managment team .. with a " who me?" attitude... :rotfl:..sorry that's naughty...“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. So I have spagetti with me today ladies. I can tell you are dying to know.. Siouxsie my sauce was made with half a red onion ( the old one ), 1/s of the courgette, the tin of toms and herbs with fresh basil, lots of pepper, too much salt and chilli flakes...I like a running sauce and it is LUSH! With one veggie sausage cut up on top and spinach thrown in.... yum!
I ordered some chilli and lime marinade powder from eBay ages ago and it finally came today.. this will be sprinkled on freshly popped corn and taken to work over the weekend. This is instead of cheap sawdust crips from Tescos and something to snack on.. you know like those "organic" bags of popcorn flavoured enough to cost £3.50..???..Anyway a girlfriend found it after we were disgusted by the prices and hey presto I just got mine.....
My rice hasn't filled me up..I brought loads.. good thing I brought my home made biscuits covered in chocolate...:rotfl:
Today is my apple day. I am taking them all. Apple sauce I think...these are from the packed lunches we get that no body wants to eat... cause the kitkats are more interesting...I think I already have 15 at home..
My life revolves around food.:T:T:T:T
....Right I have made a list of essentials from Superdrug which includes moisturiser and serum for my bad skin. I am assuming that £11-£12 is better than £30 from the Environ range and I am specifically after something new..... I need to start looking after my skin and tablets aren't the only way forward. So this investment should last a few months unlike Environ which last just one. My Total is £38.34 and consists of 10 products including the most necessary of all - HAIR DYE!! ..However I am going to research more today and see what else I can find that is not tested on animals, somewhat organic and cheaper.. I am feeling I have neglected myself recently.. I am even tempted to replace my 99p store razors that are ripping my legs to shreds.....:rotfl:
Some of the houses I have viewed in my time Lilt are shocking. I am amazed at what people class as a double room these days never mind "living area" ..can't wait to buy my own cardboard box..
Right research calls...
Onwards and Upwards!... (still itching to hit an extra £400 on the loan this month.. I need another £28 to make up what I need from boots as I have £10... will stay strong)..“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Haha it was a bit naughty of me really, but I don't care. I enjoyed it for once. Back in boots, tailored pinstripe trousers & a nice top today with jyst enough cleavage to count
The house wasn't BAD sized, but each room seemed to have a piece of the stairs poking into it somewhere... The garden was mammoth but lumpy bumpy with grass up to my knees.. And the kitchen was a poke hole. She gave me the option of ripping out half the worktops and cupboards in order to fit a normal sized standing fridge-freezer...
Oooh the chilli & lime powder sounds lovely! As does popcorn. I personally only eat salted popcorn, not into sweet flavourings
Your superdrug buys sound good & cheap considering how many items you have got! They have quite a few nice ranges in but beware their mud masks (in a tube). Those things burn!!
Spaghetti sounds lush. I had lentil soup(mush) and some leftover slightly stale yellow sticker warburtons wholemeal thins.
Wishing it was Friday today. I want to tuck up for the weekend in the warm & not move!

I am very tired and a bit out of it so if this comes off rude/nonsensical /a bit mental, apologies.

@conversation about being looked at at work: I hate it.I hate when people noticeably check me out. I developed very early (12, woke up with BAM tits) and guys (mostly youngish- from 15-25) didn't really clock that I was very young. The first time I was followed around by a drunk guy I was 12, first time wolf-whistled 12, first time surrounded by 18 year olds 13, etc. I just hate being checked out, makes me feel like a child.
The guys at work are great, the only things they ever comment on are my height (short), my hair (wild) and my nose (small).0 -
MORNING!!!!!
What a glorious day it is! I am in a treeeeemendous mood today! I swear I have hit my "second wind" and I am VERY excited for breakfast... for those that do not read the current challenge thread Mummy NSK (currently lurking under a pseudonym and watching my every move..:rotfl:) kindly offered last night to pay for lunch today.
As I already have some with me having not eaten it yesterday I am going to have a whopping breakfast instead.... melted cheese on thick white toast, a poached egg on top, hash browns strategically placed to act as a barrier to my beans, with a grilled tom... CANNOT WAIT!!! I am not a big girl but can eat and eat and eat and eat when I am in the right mood - other days border on starvation...and tea..
Moving on - the month is nearly over. My increasingly restricted budget, eating habits and non-existant days out are leaving me less guilty knowing full well I have done my bestest to get rid of the debt..
The last loan will be under £7000 today and considering it was bordering on £11000 in November last year I think I am doing ok.... expecially having got rid of everything else.
So... the day might end earlier today which suits me fine. They wanted me in again tomorrow and I politely declined. I have a "day of fellowship" with my regional church (where all the churches get together for one day of praise and FOOD!) which my friend kindly pointed out was prime hunting ground for a nice Christian man...:rotfl:..so my friend will drive me and we will come home after lunch as I need sleep before my 8 hour NIGHT SHIFT at another location.... following that treat I am also somewhere else on Sunday for 8 hours...the fun never ends.... I believe it's back to normal on Monday...
Peaty I know what you mean about the boys... I find they just stare they don't talk to me. I looked a lot older than I was when I was young and my brother only recently told me men much older than me used to call at our house and he had to chase them off... I was 10 years old when a 16 year old first asked me out. CREEPY!!!! ..Now I am 30 though I look a lot younger than I am and someone pointed out I look around 25 yesterday. Suits me fine..... it has nothing to do with my childish demeanour and general crazyness....much! :rotfl:
Right ...canteen is definitly open now..
Onwards and Upwards Kittens...“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Now THIS is good to know. Thank you...The guys at work are great, the only things they ever comment on are my height (short), my hair (wild) and my nose (small).
Are you really really tiny? I have an image of the fiesty Merida from Brave with all her crazy hair in my head now"..
