Naughty naughty unicorns! Come clean, tell auntie peaty all about what you bought. : P (Yup, feeling nosey)

I'm sorry he's not paying his way, but you will work your way out of it : ) and it'll be lovely to know it's no longer hanging over you.

Does anyone know where you can buy the cheapest (but still decent) storage boxes like this? Under my bed I have space for these on top of my standard sized ones... Which I also need to get more of :rotfl: Thanks in advance kittens.

    Hello killerpeaty,

Well now where do I start??? :p I'll start with the good stuff :A....... I brought my car tax in full, sorted my MOT, spent some money on some clothes and a bike so I can exercise regular as years of not eating great and no exercise have kinda caught up and I'm loving the exercise. I have a family wedding coming up so have had to pay for clothes for that, its come at a good time of me finally having some spare money and then my extra naughty buy was a £250 floor standing mirror ..... but I NEED that to see my figure coming back into shape ;) and its an investment as I'll have that forever and even know where its going in my own new home one day I love it! So that was me being a little naughty.

And regards to the ex yes, I'll be the better person while he pays peanuts on his debts I'm paying mine off at an alarming rate, minus the spends above and can't wait to contact the credit reference agencies to say I'm no longer associated with him, still need to sort out the joint mortgage in all of this yet though and that can't be done till these debts are gone so its time to get moving. So you can see how messy the situation is here but its getting there! :)

Sorry I can't help with the storage boxes. x

    Evening everyone.

Thanks for the concern. I've only ever had a mild itching and running nose with hayfever in my life. I think that the allergic reaction to the artichokes has put my body on high alert for any allergens. This is the result. :( I don't know what to do with myself. I look like I have gone several rounds with Mike Tyson. My face itches & is so SORE I could cry. I'm not one for taking tablets, but I've quadruple overdosed on allergy pills the last few days & have even started taking some nurofen to see if it eases the pain any.

Unicorns, welcome back! Your spending spree sounds fun. I do hope it didn't add to the debt ;) I've got one of those exes too. Joint mortgage still ongoing after nearly 4.5 years. Luckily no joint debts but he owes me a pretty penny I've all but given up ever seeing. Cannot wait to get him off my credit history, but judging him from now, I'd say that will be in 18 years or so when he finally pays the last mortgage payment

Speaking of credit history, I phoned my bank to reduce my OD from £2500 down to £250 since I have not even skipped into it by a penny for nearly a year now. They said they couldn't do it until I changed my address with them (which I did IN BRANCH when I moved here 2 and a half YEARS ago!!) - needless to say I am fuming! They are supposedly sending me something out in the post, to sign & send back to get the update done. But I printed myself one off online & am taking it in to be changed AND having the overdraft shrunk all in 1 fell swoop in the morning. The ironic thing is, their marketing rubbish comes to this address... And they have never stopped a bank payment with a billing address of this place, except once when I accidentally wrote the postcode wrong & they kicked it back! Go figure.

NO idea on storage boxes either peaty. I used tesco direct for mine! x

Evening , how are you all today? What a strange day - it looked warm and sunny but it was actually quite cold. I took my scarf (yes, a woolly one) just in case and ended up wearing it! Now I'm home and I've been snuggling up to my hot water bottle all evening. Did I miss summer or are we still waiting?

    Hey newbie Shelbi

Bit of a money dilemma Kat for August. Is it an option to take a day or two of leave that you can use to go home or to see your friend and still get the weekend overtime? I know how much I hate missing out on money making opportunities, although spending time with friends and family is important too. Tough call. What a great incentive though re your overtime at Christmas and visiting your parents. I hope you keep that in mind during your current bumper session with no days off.

If I was looking for storage boxes Peaty, my first instinct would be to try Ikea or Tesco. There's this one in Tesco which is similar to yours http://www.tesco.com/direct/16-litre-box-lid-clear/215-5869.prd?pageLevel=&skuId=215-5869 (maybe you could teach me how to do that fancy thing you do so I don't have to post the whole web link? :o) It's a similar price as well but Tesco are doing the double up thing with their Clubcard vouchers so they could be half that price. Ikea had nothing (although I did like these as they're the same range as my bed http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/80249539/. I saw some lovely under-bed storage, the fabric kind, in Lakeland today and semi nearly bought one for my spare duvet til I realised a bin bag and some sellotape would do the job just as well :T

Ooh lilt, I was just about to ask how you were (accidentally posted rather than previewed!). It sounds a nightmare. I thought of you when I saw the lovely fresh artichokes in the supermarket the other day  It does sound as though your body is still feeling under threat after the artichoke incident so it's super sensitive. Poor you :bdaycake: (was looking for a flowery smilie but since I couldn't find a bunch of flowers, I decided cake might cheer you up :D)

Lilt your story sounds very similar to mine! Determined to bring it to an end though as it has also been years and I keep having these weird re-occurring nightmares about the situation, strange.

Also hope you are feeling better with your allergies and no, no, no...... everything is purely cash these days and all my bills are all paid before I spend anything. :D just need to curb it a bit so I can sort everything quicker. x

    Morning Kittens...

Good Grief look at all the postings I missed!!! I got home desperate for a bag of chips. Chip shop closed. Fried egg and sausage on slightly stale toasted bread.. and then to bed. Up again at 0430 this morning and shall be in work until 1900 to go home and do it all again. This time though I need to have pennies in hand and shopping list sorted as I have £9 to plan for the next 5 days... can't wait to shop!!! ( weirdo alert).. but seriously my cupboards/fridge have never been so bare!

So hello again to Unicorns.. I am glad to read that you paid cash for all your goodies and expecially like the justification for a £250 mirror! :rotfl:... if it's an investment, a beautiful one.. someonething to treasure that you desperatly wanted and couldn't find a better deal elsehwere then so be it.... but with nearly £10000 debt.. it shouldn't even be on your radar to spend that much... sorry I don't want to be the stick-in-the-mud spoil sport..(cause I love the fact you de-lurked) but lets get rid of this trashy debt thing then spoil ourselves....(no more expensive boring holidays for me @ £1100 )....:rotfl:..I love this post you put up..
no, no, no...... everything is purely cash these days and all my bills are all paid before I spend anything. :D just need to curb it a bit so I can sort everything quicker. x
Lilt and Unicorns.. it must be frustrating to have a miserly ex that won't pay his way. Wonder what their new partners think of them if they owe money to their ex-girlfriends and are effectively refusing to pay it back... it's like a glimpse into their future...:rotfl:..can you go to a small claims court at all?... or how does it work..? Hired hench men or is that a little uncouth and problematic in the long run...:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Peaty those boxes look good (and Siouxsie's)- chepaer that the pretty IKEA ones I was looking at for £13 a piece...:)

Lilt big hugs for you.. wish we could come round and pander to your every need for a while.. I give a fantastic massage.. feet or shoulders?.. maybe Siouxsie could rustle up some food.. and you can sit and chat with Peaty about ISA's... would that cheer you up?..lol! :T:T:T

    :bdaycake:Now I think a special mention to DueSouthTwin2 today please:bdaycake:...

It's her 30th BIRTHDAY!!!! ...So a massive Happy Birthday!!!.With all the will in the world we have attempted to meet this week to no avail. Work has got in the way for me so we are scheming some tea time where I shall bestow my meagre birthday offerings towards this momentous occasion. Poor DST is not a happy bunny about turning 30... I'll squeeze her extra hard when I see her...(as in hug her.. not just squeeze a random part of her body..:rotfl:..)..

So I wore a short tight black dress to work today.. with black tights and heels.. in an office of boys. Just to wind them all up. I am 5'8" without the heels.. ha! All bum, legs and boobs today..(all suitably covered with no actually flesh on show)...make me feel alive....:T

Right sorry for the long post.. I just feel guilty not saying hi in the evening but was resembling the walking dead....

Unicorns that must be incredibly frustrating for you. I'm a bit live & let die (the sooner the better) with my ex ;););) - I was promised that 2 years was all it would take... yeah right! I am so glad I don't have nightmares about him. I think if that started, I would actually just run him over & get it all done with.. Ha! I wish I was joking :eek:

See above re what to do with the ex ;)

This would cheer me up NO end!!! I've been to the doctors & have 6 steroid tablets a day to take for 2 weeks to curb the reaction, along with a super anti-histamine which is making me very sleepy & does not bode well for the next months worth of work days  - I'm also banned from the use of make up, soaps, perfume, washing powder & pretty much anything that may come into contact with my skin. Joy.

LMAO @ your feeling alive in your little black dress!! Good for you!!! *wolf whistle*:rotfl::rotfl:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DST!!!!!!!! 30 is NOT old. I shall be there in just under 3 years and I am looking forward to it!!! :bdaycake:

I've been a busy bumble bee today. I went into the bank and asked why on earth my address has reverted to the old one, only to be told that when I came into branch in OCTOBER to change my bank account to a non-fee paying one, they had a system glitch which meant anyone who changed details in branch reverted back to old details... They have issued a retraction to all the credit agencies today & changed my details as if this indiscretion never happened... They better have... Plus side, I also changed my OD on that account from £2500 to £250!! :) Whoop!!!

Buoyed by my success, I walked next door into HSBC armed with my marriage certificate and a mortgage statement from 2008. I walked back out having changed all my details with them, so will no receive mortgage statements for the joint mortgage for the first time in years. Also the ex won't know my details, will just see on his next annual statement that my name has changed!

I came home, called K&Co to confirm my account was closed last year, as lovely CreditExpert are telling me my only account blemish is that I've no closed accounts, but they have it their on their own report in B&W, 'Settled' - which is as good as it ever gets with them! I then called & cancelled my Capital 1 credit card as the 0% balance xfer period was over this month & it was paid off in March. And FINALLY called Experian to get my MBNA & Cap1 cards added to my credit report as they had my address slightly differently. That will show tomorrow! Lets hope my lovely useless 966 credit score doesn't dip massively haha!

Oopsies sorry for the epic post... Kat I wish to see your £9 worth of shopping ;)

Oooooh Lilt you have been busy today! What a day for you... It's always good to wind up those loose ends on things. Make you feel more "together" mentally...These are always bits that I always push back until I have a "quiet few minutes" and then it all builds up. Be you feel relieved?..apart from the whole not allow to wash thing.... You need to check out www.lovelula.com for a plethora of organic goodies for your skin...

My chip buying antics have been thwarted again. Sent one of the boys to get them in the canteen ( other foodage supplied again today but I have chips on the brain now ), he gets distracted by going outside for money, eating his own lunch then returns and said canteen is shut. Something is protecting my money..

So £9 in tact Lilt this is what I have so far although I am very very very tired right now...but this is my first shot ..

    Quorn fillets - £2 ( I have a voucher for 45 p off )
    Cherry toms - £2.98
    1 Red Onion - 17p
    EDV Crumpets - 37p
    EDV Sultanas - 84p
    EDV Honey - 99p
    EDV Penne - 30p
    EDV Oats - 75p
    EDV Eggs - £1.34
    EDV Tinned Toms - 31p
    1 courgette - 31p
    EDV fruit yoghurts - 33p
Tinned mixed Taco beans - 55p

Subject to quantity of yellow sticker food located. And subject to change. This is to last until Monday afternoon with the rest of the week being fed at work and Overtime over the weekend where I will get an attack of the munchies..

I got another overtime shift confirmed for the 9th.. Whoop Whoop. How amazing would it be to belt this all out and pay it off BEFORE my DFD....#wishfulthinking.

If after Junes payment when the total will stand at about £6648.. if I can pay £1300 for at least three months it would be GREAT..:rotfl:..defo wishful thinking now...

    Onwards and Upwards Kittens!!
