  • I could multi-quote the shizzle out of this thing, but I really don't feel the need. Thank you all for your lovely words about my little lamb. Abundant, she has many a toasty warm sleepsuit... Unfortunately she looked like that before the lamb went on for 5 minutes of photos, and was only wearing a babygrow (no legs!!) for the 2 hours beforehand. Amazing what a bit of calpol does though... She's 9 months and no teeth yet  so they better turn up soon or I'll be getting the pliers out!! Spud... not long now eh?!?! :D:D

Gutted about the snow cancelling work plans Kat. Still, better safe than sorry & at least you have a guilt free reason for being at home chilling out and hopefully getting a bit of your infectious mojo back!!

I am soooooo jealous of the cheese toasties. My dairy intolerant stomach hates me but I LOVE cheddar cheese. And cheese (sometimes with a bit of finely chopped red onion) toasties are the best although I threw my toastie maker away recently as I was fed up of the non-stick being more of a cheese-welding mess. The baby George Forman we were given 2nd hand works a treat though :D

I get paid a week tomorrow & it's no council tax month number 1.... so my council tax money is banging straight off the credit card, with the usual payment going off it as well that means £180 off the card, this month and next... This tells me I should have a remaining balance of £3.50 by the 5th March :D:D:D:D Think I can find that somewhere....:rotfl:

On top of that, I have £106 in refunds coming to me before the end of January. I have £147 in my savings accounts already which shouldn't need touching, and after my final DD has gone out, I should have about £31 left in the bank to last a week. I don't need to buy anything apart from bread/veg so I think my challenge has been a success!!! Once the £106 is in my savings, that means I have just over £250 in savings... and I think I can live like this again next month... so should be able to put away a whopping £300 on the 28th January. Not to mention OH just ploughing all but £7.50 of his wages each month into savings...

I'm a bit stunned - savings?! What now? I don't want to lose the plot and start spending because I know I can.

Oh that's fab news Happy, no interest to pay will really help you dent the debt.

<---- This is scrappy, Killer, he doesn't always look this grumpy. He was funny this morning running around in the snow then he heard Hubby putting the fire on and legged it in, paws up in front of the fire :)

Strated teaching myself to knit with the plan of making my best friend a patchwork blanket for Xmas (not sure which one though) Going very slowly, still on my first square, only basic stitch and haven't taught myself casting off yet. I tried learning crochet but my fingers just couldn't get the hang of it! It does mean I've bought a couple of mags, the ones on offer but don't think I'll be buying anymore at the speed I knit.

If you have to go out in the snow, take care xx
  • Hismissus your Scrappy is a beauty. I had a beautiful baby cat (3 years old) called Echo, but unfortunately she turned into a complete fruitloop when I got pregnant. Think my hormones sent her crazy. I tried everything to get her to chill out but she was a nightmare and only got worse when DD was born. I had infinitely less patience with her antics and when I came in to find she had done some unspeakables on my bed (not the first time) and the baby car seat and pram... I couldn't cope any more and we had her re-homed. I do miss her lovely purring cuddles. Still feel guilty too even after knowing she is in a lovely children free new home.

I used to knit when I was a kid, was taught by a lady who was in the bed next to my mum in the hospital. Such an amazing lady... the patience to teach a left hander how to knit  what a saint! I have long since forgotten the art though. Where I live, there are 'guerilla crochet artists'... no joke. You cannot move on remembrance day without seeing crocheted poppies attached to every railing, sprinkled across the grass on the park and all around the memorial... The empty shops all have displays in them, such as a crocheted bicycle... every summer there are flowers everywhere... It really is fantastic! Even with tourists picking them up and taking them home, there are always mountains more!!!

  • Lilt where on earth do you live? Its like that ad for soft mints with the wee man Mr Soft.. everyone is made of crochet'd bits.. sounds amazing!! Can't believe they scatter them across the ground..must look amazing though. I would love to learn to do either. I used to knit but things would always end up to tight... hmmmm cross-stitching used to take up a LOT of my time I had to stop for a while.. You all have me thinking now. I have a bookmark to finish!
