Mrs: It's interesting to hear about your budgeting method, its a bit like mine. I've given myself an average (entertainment) budget over the month of £50 a week so if I am expecting a big weekend then I save on a different one. Congrats on the coming under budget!
Was the depletion about the jabs your cat/s got?
And more excitingly, FOUR CATS!?!!! Well excited about that. Are they excited about the snow? Have they met it yet? Are they hilarious? Have you filmed it? Can I see it?
Lilt: What's lil squirt think about the snow? Is psoriasis painful? Does the cold affect it? I know nothing about it! >D
I hadn't planned on paying for Scrappy's dermatitis and didn't realise the jabs for life had increased in price. Was expecting a bill for £100 not £176. Luckily I had the emergency fund so it's not affected my weekly budget
I'm afraid we've not got enough snow for the cats to play in. They're not into going out if it's cold. Only Scrappy (the youngest) will "play" in the snow, he kind of chases it but no vids sorry. He's the only cat that we chose, the other 3 are "strays" - 2 I've taken in from friends who couldn't/wouldn't (grrr!) look after them and one genuine stray left behind when a neighbour did a moonlight flit never to be seen again.
As a bona fide cat woman, I don't do children (urgh!) but lilt, lil lilt is soooo cute!0 -
Awesome photos Lilt!!! What a cool cute baby!!! Just wondering if her ickle cheeks are rosy *because* she is in a thermal any weather lamb's outfit he he... cos they seem to have gone in the -20' arctic conditions whilst making her snow angel lol...!!!
PS. OMG - just realised she is in a Panda/Bear suit in the second!!! Clearly this is where I am going wrong. I'm never that snug even in my winter coat... am going out pronto to buy myself said bear suit. Sorted!!!

Good Day one and all. I have been home from work all day! The snow hadn't dissipated enough for me to take the bike out so I had to cancel an overtime shift. This annoys me greatly however it started snowing at around 0800 again and didn't stop until 1500. We are now under 8 inches of snow and its still coming down although lightly....
I got a little too much into Ripper Street and watched two in a row on iPlayer and have wasted 2 hours of my life. I did manage to sort out my knicker drawer along with my scarf drawer and put two loads of washing on while walking with my netbook in one ear and headphones in.
I am not crazy I promise.:rotfl:
SO I managed to get some muffins made. Sugar free, blueberry and banana wholemeal with bits of apple shoved in the top and walnuts cracked and sprinkled on top....YUMMY!!! They poofed up and are MASSIVE! 16 made and in the freezer.
Thank you for skincare advise from all.. but I am all over the diet thing despite green tea which is stink'in ( Sorry Abundant! ).. I am seeing the Dr on Tuesday and this isn't a depression issue for me at all.. just a thought process that comes now and then. I am so used to it now my camouflage techniques with make-up are AMAZING!!!:T..
So no work today I was very tempted to go to town. The trains were cancelled so I didn't. Simples. Although I am looking into halving the skincare I used before as mentioned as "great for scarring above" and spend £60 on this in February. Seeing as its a shorter month and my food bill shouldn't be as large as it was this month ..:T ( I have a grasp on this food malarky now )...
For those with kiddies or kiddies coming along.... I baby-sat for a whole 90 minutes yesterday!!!...I didn't steal one... let me explain!!!... I spent the day at church with a close friend and she fed me afterwards at her house. She had an admin meeting to attend that afternoon back at church so I said I would stay home with baby. And what a cutie he is! I am not one to take an interest in babies, or coo over a random persons kid but this one is gorgeous, his mother is a very close friend AND I changed a REAL nappy... you know what I mean. So I have volunteered to do it again - my kindness effort for this world - to let them have a night out sometime on there own.... this has NOTHING to do with the man-friend my girl has set me up with. Date night soon I think...:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
So I am on the train this week.. snow is clearly here to stay. I have £13 left of my petrol fun.. I need another £56 from somewhere by Thursday when my travel-card runs out.. SO I am going to get some items on eBay and see what I can find... I have £17 left over from the last eBay lot.. and £100 in my current account so it doesn't need to there exactly on Thursday but I personally feel I need to make it up before the beginning of February.....hummmmph!
Seriously people - start praying/meditating/thinking/hoping that the snow melts before my double stint of overtime next weekend.. Otherwise I will be using the train and it'll be virtually impossible...:(
Right I need a grilled cheese sandwich... naughty but it's "naughty night" and unfortunately this is as naughty as it gets!:rotfl:
Hugs....

Ok, so the blame for what just happened in my kitchen lies firmly at your door miss kat!!! I was considering making a big pot of chilli, although admittedly I didn't have a lot of enthusiasm for it. So I started reading this thread and there is was, permission to be naughty!!! I half remembered a recipe from the Olive magazine for tomato soup with cheese toastie http://fmgstatic.ceros.com/immediate-media/olive-february-2013/page/3 I didn't even want the cheese toastie but I suddenly found myself buttering bread and putting (lots of) cheese on it and grilling it! It was sickeningly yummy though!! I never had buttered grilled cheese toasties before (and probably won't again, kat made me do it!!)
So, other than making a mess of my kitchen and my arteries, today was really dull! It was spent in front of my laptop (which has now lost it's Y key...can keys be superglued back on??), working out money making/saving tips and chasing up money owed to me! I also realised that I'm probably not on the electoral register which will be why I have been turned down for 0% credit cards a few times since I moved here. I always assumed it was because I owed so much, but when using Martin's new card acceptance tool I had less than a 10% chance of being accepted for ANY card, I had a closer look. I also signed up for a free month with https://www.checkmyfiles.com (via Quidco so I'll get paid for it!) to see if there are any nasties lurking but I know I've never missed a payment so it's all up to date...doesn't hurt to check though. Oh, and I registered online for the Electoral Register and printed off the form to send off tomorrow!
Between having my niece visit over Christmas, my holiday in NI and now the snow, my extra money making activities have almost ground to a halt. I better get things moving again - this debt won't clear itself!!
I quite fancy a cute little lamb suit - how perfect for days in (or out) ..that would cut my heating bill!!

evening all:j
loving the little lamb ! making me proper broody!
just checking in so say my plans for really hitting the debt this month have rather gone astray:(.
My lads fees are a £145 higher than i have been paying as they "forgot" to add on the school bus so i have to play catch up. The £300 the inland revenue said they owed me never existed ! it was an "administrative error" and today our microwave died:( now it was 26yrs old:eek: so i shouldn't really complain but the timing is quite dispiriting.
On a more positive extra spend note i have been using the pedometer i was give for christmas and it has motivated me to go to the gym 3 times a weeknow this costs £5.80 a time but its only for a month as work will fill the gap easily after that. It turns out i walk upto 9 miles on a normal work day and 16 miles on a gym day if my"fitbit" is correct which apparently around 3300 calories. which is good considering my massive appetite:D.
I have a couple of questions to finish, firstly can anyboby recomend a smart meter for elecy ? our bill is £85 a month with no heating and is surely an area we could do better in.
and secondly and a much broader issue our food spend is massive compared with some now we do eat a lot of fresh fruit and veg and i do eat a lot! but at £200 per person a month it is quite frankly ridiculous. but i don't know were to start or more pertinately how to broach the subject with the food buyer in the house:eek: we waste very little just the odd tomato celery stick apple etc
many thanks in advance.
onwards and upwards. eco
p.s this will mean very little but a big plus this month is we have gone t.b free in our cows for the first time in ages:beer: well chuffed!debt free 1st October 20160 -
