  • Hahaha!! Folkestone in Kent - it's a bit of a dive sometimes but a lot of it is lovely :D They put little bunches of flowers... I have pics somewhere, but I've taken about 5000 pics in the last 9 months so finding them is a bit of a trek. Did you fix your kindle?!

    Debt-free and Proud!
NSK - I used to cross stitch but, if it was a big project, I'd get bored and impatient as the end never seemed near. I did do lots of small cross stitched cards for a while. I found though it tired my eyes and I needed a day lamp for the evenings. I can knit in an evening quite easily, maybe when I start reading patterns and doing more advanced stitches it might tire me more.

I have a dream of one day being able to knit gifts for everyone (well those that'd appreciate it anyway) :)
  • I have read this post from the start it has taken me 4 days lol, it's been like a good book that I can't put down!!

I have just started work after 6 years off due to being ill, and I have been an Mse er for a few years, certainly helped me with old debts and bank charges, without which I would be a damn site worse off than I am. But as it stands I want the last of it to be GONE!! and I am very impatient lol

    Heya!!!

Congrats on getting the 0% card 'Happy'... That should make a huge difference... Feels good that whatever you pay is going OFF your debt and NOT into their pockets!!!

We don' think you're a loon NSK... honest!!!

Well I did the deed and signed up to a 1 debt vs 100 day challenge... It fits well with this one as keeps me focused on short term goals... I committed myself to clear £3500 by May 01st!!! ARRRRGH!!!If I manage it I will have cleared 45% of my debt. What it means in real terms is having to still budget and stay on track each month... so will be signing up every month to your monthly challenges Kat as ever!!! Every spare bit of current income has to go on debt. I will still be £250 short each month... which means... can I bring myself to say it... *cough*... more overtime!!! Had a chat with my Boss who has said she can help from May but is happy for me to do extra elsewhere until then...

Goodbye social life... Hello Debt Destruction!!!

    Hey All...

Off to a good start... think I said previously I need to make an extra £250 per month (= 2% of debt) to keep on target... I paid an extra £62.50... and have just slashed my spend budget and squeezed another £62.50... 1% down... 1% to go...

What it means is this week my budget = £60, but after that it's £40 per week for everything (petrol/spends/groceries). My food cupboard will last well over a week... and no big nights out planned for Feb just yet... and I have well over half a tank of fuel... and don't use much anymore.

Need to think of things to sell... I have 1/2 box of After Eight mints and 1/4 tin of Heroes (only fudge and caramels left mind!)... Any offers??? Yours for only £125.00!!! (tin included!)... LOL!!!

    :D

  • Good day one and all... seems quiet on here recently. Maybe as I have been "away" from my desk so too speak many have turned elsewhere! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

So I am going to make a better effort to get on here everyday. I think I need to document how I am feeling more than anything but an urgent re-hash of my expenditure, expectations and general outlook is required.

So I have checked online and have not been paid my overtime. This annoys me like you have no idea. It will apparently be processed in February AS WELL as what I have just submitted this month- meaning I will hit the next tax bracket and be taxed beyond what I should be. I am so annoyed and have our central expenses team on redial. I can still tuck away £500 I think but it's not enough... SO angry!!

I have realized that if I am careful I can live on half my wage..With £698 going to bills I have £200 to live on ( as stated on January's challenge ) I can put the rest away.. I just have to be STRONG!!

Still attempting to get through to the expenses people... will update shortly..

    Onwards and Upwards..

  • Right so my overtime money won't be paid to me at all this month. I have to wait until the end of next month. Not an impressed NSK I'll say that much..
