OS Daily, Good Friday 6/04/2007

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 06/04/2007. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

everyone, today - Good Friday.

I have been to bed and am now awake, TBH I am in floods at the mo while I am on my own. OH came home last night, discharged as they are clearing out the wards, I guess it's for easter.

He had another echo and then the consultant told him that as he was now stable he can go home. They have cancelled the app. with the surgeon and intend to treat him locally.   (these are the people who told him they had no real idea what was causing his problems). Yesterday we were told that he basically needed surgery as clinically the faulty valve needed seeing to - today - the symptoms are treated so you can go home. The quack (at this point I think they are all quacks!!!) yesterday was straight down the line concerned, his oppo today has sent him home with a reducing dose of the tabs that prevent his arrythmia. !!!!!!!!!! a reducing dose, so how long before I have to do another 999! I am going to loose my job at this rate! the job that was going to promote me in another 6 weeks to senior care. Not much chance of that with all this flaming time off. I am so angry at the moment with it all - tired, frazzled, angry and scared. All I wanted was for them to cure the problem!

Sorry. That sounds so selfish and I really shouldn't off load on you all but he's now off work and we are back in limbo again. ............................sorry - rant over.

I have pulled out the brandy and will probably sleep very well later!

OS wise, tomorrow (today) I intend to sort ot the seedlings and plant the bulbs, The lamb neck £5.50 for 5lbs has been split and some of it will go in to the SC with veggies for a hotpot in the morning. I also have another glut of eggs, so I feel a bread and butter pudding and a quiche may be in order when I have my head together tomorrow. I also need to get hold of some easter eggs for the LO's for Sunday. I think a baking session may well be in order too.

Lol the brandy is making me even more tearful, normal service willl be returned when I wake up.

I hope you all have a really good day (the forecast looks really good) and

2cqmzoj.giflots of hugs to all of you good people in need,

See you all later (much later),

Smoky. xxxxxxx

Ps, Happy birthday IvanOpinion

I slept for an hour and awake too. I didn't sleep too well yesterday but........

We had an offer made to us and we accepted it - so 29th June is our moving date, so subject to all the legal stuff, we are moving - it is Scotland, so not so scary!

Shall do a load of washing when I finally surface and hopefully hang it out for the first time this year!

Having chicken BBQ with some Reggae Reggae sauce we got from Sainsbury's.
Spent a lot yesterday but it is Easter and we had something to celebrate etc:)
    An average day in my life:hello: :eek::mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T :o :rotfl: :rotfl: :p :eek::mad: :beer:

    Hey Smoky.....big hugs.

Hope you are in the land of nod now....and for a few hours can forget your troubles. I can understand your fears, concerns, ager and despair. What is the NHS coming to? Why not thouroughly investigate and then TREAT your OH? It's madness to do half a job and hope he'll be OK, and it's very worrying for him and for you too if the problem hasn't been treated.

I have a hernia the size of a rugby ball straining through my abdomen. I have waited three months so far just to see a hospital consultant. I'll see him in a fortnight, but then I'll probably have to wait weeks for the repair operation. It's badly needed. I am misshapen, I feel huge and freakish and my tummy is so bloated, tender and sore. I feel like I am growing an alien inside me....and it hurts to walk or be on my feet for long...or to reverse the car because it entails looking over my shoulder. All this is a result of a botched operation in December I fear. Sigh....

I am sorry you have been feeling so upset Smoky. Hope the brandy helped you to sleep and that tomorrow things seem a little brighter. You are already making plans for meals etc and going to cook and do some gardening, even though you feel down! Way to go! I so admire your determination and energy, even though you have such a worrying problem to contend with.

    Have just remembered!!!

My partner (we don't live together) is taking me out for lunch today. We are going for a drive in the Cotswolds....to Upper and Lower Slaughters. It's my birthday! I'd completely forgotten....because it's the middle of the night!

(Checks clock!) Yes...past midnight! I am 53 today! I can't believe it! I feel so young in my head! Shame the body is beginning to show the signs of wear and tear! (Literally! :D )

It's also Good Friday.....significant for all us Christians. I shan't be going to church this morning, but we will have hot cross buns for elevenses....and I'll be counting my blessings.

I'd better go and get my beauty sleep so I look good for OH tomorrow, given I am now a year older! I bought myself a new skirt today (ooops, yesterday) which is very pretty....a faded pale green cotton mix.....a bit hippyish, with embroidered inserts and an elasticated waist to accommodate "The Alien" growing out of my stomach! I also need to rush out and get some reasonably priced easter eggs tomorrow morning! I usually give one to my God-daughter and my "young adult" children who still live at home! (I think they'd prefer a fiver each for beer money to be honest )

Have a good day tomorrow Smoky...and everyone else.

Try to forget the housework and mundane things? Hope the sun shines again and we can get out there and enjoy it.

    Morning All

Happy Birthday Sky Blue and to anyone else celebrating anything today.

Sat here at work with the keyboard on my knee, my leg up under the desk! At work early to get out early to get away. Just got to pack odds and sods for the last minute, after figuring out what bag we can take as hand luggage, the special wheeled flight bags are too large for the new regulations, even though they are not at all large, so large handbag, and briefcase with laptop in for OH. What difference does 30cm make I ask! Not risking the "it's too big" routine.

Smoky ((((big hugs)))) I dont know how you are accepting it, your rant was tiny compared to how I would react. Seriously is there no way you can get to your Dr's on Tuesday (only emegencies now I imagine) on your own, and have your rant at him, saying, is there another hospital he can go too, does any one care, etc., etc., and let the tears flow, they need to know what they are doing to you, let alone your OH. Don't take it lying down, show them you mean business, a slight mention that you have all these incidents, comments, etc., recorded and boy if anything should happen to Oh you would want to know who is responsible! might not go amiss. I know its hard not having transport, but if the existing hospital is so inapt he needs to be somewhere else, and your Dr needs to get him the appointment with the specialist who can treat him PDQ.

Congratulations on the Sale CCStar Where are you moving to? Have you sorted that out yet? Or is is just get rid of the house and then sort out.

Looks like some of the early risers have reacted to the holidays by sleeping a little later, I hope so anyway. Kyle how is LO, I think there is no greater feeling of inadequacy than if you cannot sort your child/dren out. It hit me very hard, being a totally competent working wife, to becoming a Mum and not knowing why DS was crying, after doing the normal checks. Being Mrs Fix-it in day-to-day life and then being Mrs I-don't-know-what-to-do after the birth of your first especially when you are not used to asking for help is very undermining.

Enough of my ramble, better do some work and get a coffee.

Have a lovely Easter everyone, I do dial in from time to time in (rainy) Spain, so may leave a small message, but doubt if I can manage to read all your chats.

    Morning all,

Kyle, it sounds like you are living a nightmare at the moment. Good luck with the controlled crying, I really hope it works for you and you get some rest soon. At least you've got a lot of support from your mum.
Twink/squishy, when does ds/dh get home? I bet all three of you can't wait to see him.
    Smoky, ((Hugs))
    Skyblue, Happy Birthday! :bdaycake:

Just a quickie from me this morning as I'm rushing out to work. I don't normally work weekdays but we all have to take our turns at bank holidays and this is one of mine....on the upside I have no evening calls tonight so after lunchtime today I'll be off until Monday week. :j

Nothing OS done this morning at all.....I'll think about that later when I get home. I don't know how those of you who work full time manage to be organised.

Ok, better get going....catch up with you all later.

In the meantime, have a lovely day.
