Evening everybody! :hello:
Haven't posted yet today as I find that Good Friday is the one time of the year when I really prefer, once I've got home from church, to cut myself off from the world and be reflective. It's partly a reaction to the fact that in order to get to and from church - we have a 3pm service - I have to brave the crowds of bank holiday shoppers/tourists up at the west end of Oxford Street by Marble Arch
So I have had a lovely day - church went well, and I have spent the evening listening to appropriate music.
And what a beautiful spring day it has been! I've had my French doors (am in a 1st floor flat but I've got one of those balcony-fronts even though no actual outside space) wide open all evening, which has really cleared the air in the flat.
joannasmum - how old is DD now? Being scared of the teddy reminded me of my little bro when he was 2 or 3 - Mum wanted to move him into a proper bed but he refused point blank - then one night he had a bad dream that there was a fish in his cot
and from that night onwards he refused to sleep in his cot and made a successful transition into a grownup bed!
Blairweech - sorry to hear about you and OH
Thanks for the recipe though, it sounds even yummier than when you first mentioned it!
Nelski - is that the same dog as before? The one that has his very own MSE ID? Will he be posting on here?
lil_me/RacyRed - re: stubborn wildlife - pheasants are the worst - they are the stupidest animals under the sun
If a cat is sitting in the middle of the road and a car comes towards it at speed, it will instinctively run out of the way. A rabbit, once it's finished with the "caught in the headlights" business, will also run away. A pheasant, ,on the other hand, will just keep pottering along with a vague expression on its face! :rotfl:
SkyBlue/Ivan - Happy Birthday :bdaycake:
smokybabe - hugs to you & DH.
Bye for now
Love Rzl

Hi everyone - and big hugs and birthday kisses to IvanOpinion and to SkyBlue.
Gosh what a week, I have been so incredibly tired it has been torture to stay awake. I did have my usual problem of not being able to stay asleep as well, so I have been a very grumpy sleep deprived insomniac this entire week. I'm going to take a wee pill tonight and fingers crossed that will keep me asleep until at least nine in the morning.
Moggins, good luck for tomorrow. I hope PITA goes quietly. You sound like you are grabbing this problem by the horns, and looking forward rather than backwards - that is brilliant, well done you, you are going to be a happy singleton as attitude is everything.
Catznine...I think the thanks button is all yours to do with as you wish!
Racy - I am loving the tales about your coots. Maybe a sign over the rails would be helpful in asking the boating fraternity to slow down so as to avoid disturbance to the wildlife, especially at this v.vulnerable time in the little ones' lives.
I am currently sporting a big deep scratch down the left side of my face, thanks to Teddy the Cat. I was trying to remove some moulting hair, except it was still attached and he jumped in the air (I was lying in bed at the time, lol) and landed on my face. It bled and bled, and I now look like I've been in a cat fight with another woman, hehe.
Old Style this evening has been a whirlwind of a few loads of washing to chuck outside into the sun in the morning, a very quick swish and wipe of the bathroom and a lot of tidying and putting away in the kitchen, with a bit of swishing and wiping in there too. I'm quite pleased with how much I've got done considering I didn't get home until quite late tonight.
Gosh I am tired, really need to get into my bed!
Sleep well everyone.
