Good morning everyone,
Had a lie in this morning to celebrate my first day off work!! DD brought me up a cup of tea in bed, and then got in for a cuddle, lovely.
Nothing much planned for today, we are going away for a few days on Sunday - its my sisters 40th birthday, and also DS has a football tournement, so i need to get the hous ship shape before then, as i hate coming back to a messy house. We are actually going to celebrate Easter tomorrow as we cant on Sunday, was a bit mad when the football came up as Easter is very important (even though, like Christmas too commercialised and im as guilty as the next person there as well) which is why we will be doing it tomorrow.
Right, better go and have a shower, my hair looks like a birds nest at the moment, def needs a wash!!!
Smokey - Huge ((HUGS)) to you and your OH, agree with the others, get on to your GP ASAP!!
Blairweech - sorry re your bad news xxx
Skyblue and Ivan - HAPPY BIRTHDAY
((hugs)) to anyone who would like or needs one xxxxxxx
Have a lovely day,
Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -
DDs have been baking a cake to welcome their sister back from her school trip.
Will load dishwasher and then need to go out to buy bread, rolls and salad veg for the weekend.
Will have loads of washing once Dd gets home.
Happy Birthday Ivan :bdaycake:
I do have some idea how you feel. My dad died the day after my birthday last year.
No one will expect you to be the life and soul of the party but they want to show they care about you."This site is addictive!"

Morning everybody :hello:
Looks like yesterday's early morning and late night caught up with me and I've overslept today  (I must add I do feel better for it!!)
Anyway I didn't have a lazy day yesterday as planned, I ended up getting all the curtains down and washing them and cleaned all the windows (inside and out)
So my spring clean officially starts today, I'm going to tackle upstairs first and see how I get on and do downstairs tomorrow if necessary.
As they have forecast a lovely sunny weekend I'm going to tackle the garden, and see if I can make it presentable!!!
Must go need to go to town first and do some banking and I ain't even dressed yet.
Anyway have a lovely day for all those celebrating and hugs to those that want/need them

Morning all
<<Smokey>> That sounds awful, and very worrying. It's so frustrating when you keep seeing different people and they say different things. Can your local GP help? I mean, if you explain to him the sequence of events and information, perhaps he can help? Write it all down in bullet points to make it easier for him to refer to after you have gone, and keep a copy for yourself.
<<Blairweech>>SOrry to hear about you and your OH.
<<donnygal>> Just think, all this keeping your leg elevated means you'll be able to cancan when you're better!
<<moggins>> in anticipation of tomorrow. I can imagine you will feel a whole mixd of emotions tomorrow... relief that its over, sadness that it didn't work out, anger that he could do this to you and your daughter... Remember that all emotions are normal, and accept that it'll be a bit of a rollercoaster for a while.
Happy Birthdays to SkyBlue and Ivan.
DW been on, WM on now that the DW is on drying cycle (don't have the water pressure to have them on at the same time), and hope to do several more loads today as it's such a fab drying day.
Not really sure what to do today. We';re off to see Rory Bremner this evening, and I'm torn between going to Savill Garden this afternoon and spring cleaning the bedroom. I know it sounds an odd dilemma - and probably no contest for many - but there is something perversly satisfying about spring cleaning on such a lovely day!
OH is in the greenhouse tending to all the baby veggie plants. He loves growing them, just doesn't like eating many of them! Most successful crop is tomatoes, we usually have about 12 tomato plants of different varieties, and much of it is made into passata and frozen for year round use, or hm ketchup etc. We're trying a hydroponic system foe some of the plants this year.
Well, I've finished my coffee so it's time to get going.
Have a great day everyone xxx0 -
a very efficient morning so far:
2 loads of washing done & out on the line, Tesco shop done (before 9am :A), DW on, recycling sorted, bins emptied & a batch of buns baked to use up the last couple of duck eggs. Oh, and er.....*cough* half an easter egg eaten
OH is only working 1/2 day today, so finished at 10 & should be home shortly. Then we're off to the gym before the in laws get here some time this aft. I've planned Beef stifado for dinner, but it's more like BBQ weather outside.
I had a lovely meander round Tesco, as it was so quiet, and noticed stardrops is on 3 for 2 if anyone is running low.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend, hugs to those feeling low/tired/ill/stressed.0 -
Hello everyone. Hugs to those who need them especially smoky and moggins in anticipation of tomorrow.
We now have a newly decorated living room, to add to our newly decorated dining room and kitchen. Bought some new cushions and curtains too. The summer house frame is up also. Still a long way to go till we are finished, but we are finally starting to see things taking shape.
DH has taken his mum to the market, and will be getting some chicken and salad there, as we will prob have wraps for tea.
Apologies to the veggies in advance for the following story but had to share what happened yesterday.
I took DS out for the day. DH sister and neice called at our house and DH made ham sandwiches for everyone. 4yo DD took one bite and announced "I'm eating a piggy" and 39yo SIL refused to finish her sandwich. DH did ask his sister if she hadn't realised before.

Morning everyone
Blimey taken me ages to catch up - note to self do not let daily thread reading pile up too much.

Blairweech - sorry to here your news as ever you seem to be putting a positive view on it but make sure you look after yourself
Queenie - I take it one of those Simnel cakes is for your new bessy mate:rotfl: (in case of any confusion - thats me:D
Big fat hugs to everyone else too
Well I am enjoying the company of a small but dangerously energetic cannine visitor at the moment. Its doing me the world of good with 3 walks a day.
He is a real pleasure to look after so I am making the most of my time with him.
Yesterday afternoon I sat in the garden with my neighbour (
) whilst her daughter and friend ran the little legs off him with a few sticks and a squeaky ball!! He slept like a log last night (although I have no idea how well logs sleep really
) Anyway I am now the proud owner of a very red face and arms   I wouldnt have thought the sun was hot enough, anyway best get back to using some cream again now - I love spring/summer :j
Talking of sun managed to get a fantastic deal to go to Taba Heights in a 5 star hotel half board for £299 that just seemed too good to be true so booked it:o :T My folks stayed in the same hotel last year and payed loads more so I know its a good snip.
My Easter will be fairly quiet (probably a bit more sunbathing this afternoon judging by the blue sky) drinkys tonight with neighbour (again I know but this one was planned in:o) then off for a big fat roast dinner with my mum and dad on Sunday - they live by a canal so we are planning a long walk with the boy first to build up a good appetite:j
:easter_ba :EasterBun :easter_os :icotbaske :easter: to all

Happy birthday Skyblue and Ivan:)
Hugs to Smokey and anyone else who needs them
Clouding over a bit. Would like to try and make a big hot cross bun in the BM, minus the cross, just have the basic bun but like a cake or is this Simnel cake? I get confused.
We are going to start looking - we didn't want to get caught out so have a lot of ideas, either renting short term, don't want to buy on the rebound, buy two small places one in Scotland, one down south or a dream home (whatever we can find).
We are going away on 15th to see the family.
Will be going to Scarborough, Wakefield, Bluewater shopping, Sussex/Kent, Bournemouth, Oxford, Chester, Manchester then home. If anyone knows of any good value hotels to stop at Wakefield, East Sussex/Kent, and Chester areas, I would be interested to hear about, as we are planning our trip this weekend!
We collect our new car tomorrow, so will be tootling around Perth. We have PT exchanged our existing car so should cost less.
Our son will be coming round for dinner Monday night, he says he has gone very basic with his food, will try and give him some OS tips and give him some stuff from our heaving cupboards and freezer to keep him going. Still not got a job tho:(An average day in my life:hello: :mad: :coffee::coffee::coffee::T

Hello all!
Been a while since I've gotten around to posting on the daily thread but better late than never! Been off work since yesterday and not going back until Tuesday - DH and I have spent a lot of time sat about in dressing gowns and drinking coffee - bliss! We did think about going away but by the time we got round to doing anything about it, Easter was next weekend and everything was very expensive. Oh well!
Anyway, going to make Nigella's courgette and chickpea filo pie - I found some filo reduced in somerfields and have been wondering what to do with it. I also need to make some millionaire's shortbread to take into work, as some people have been very helpful lately.
Can't wait until Easter Sunday - I've been off chocolate for Lent and have got quite a little stash all lined up! DH bought me a Hotel Chocolate egg which is winking at me seductively...
Oh yes, my lettuce seedlings are also doing well. They're sat on the kitchen windosill at the moment, hopefully in another two weeks they can go outside!
Enjoy the Easter weekend everyone and big hugs to all who need them!0 -
Hugs to Smokey, Kyle, Blairweech and anyone else who needs one or would just like one.
Congratulations on the house CCStar
Happy Birthday Skyblue and Ivan
Hope you both have a lovely day.
Moggins, no matter how much it's a needed seperation it can still be hard, just been saying the same thing to a friend yesterday, I'd been trying to contact her for ages but she'd changed her number. Her and her partner were having problems, she went out on Mother's Day to see her Mum and when she returned he'd cleared out all his stuff and moved out. She knew it was going to happen, but still hard, she lives about 30 miles from me but I'm going to go and see her in a few weeks.
Anyway, I best get cracking, lots to do, can hear DP moving around so saves me waking him. Grumpy so and so to get up he can be.
Hope you all have a nice day
One day I might be more organised...........
