Evening All, i need to rant (apologies) went on a couple dates with x in March, still texting and everything then just seen on facebook he's in a relationship! I'm not bothered that he's a relationship, good luck to him but the fact he's still texting me and not said anything! As they say "sometimes he's just not that into you".
So think I need a break from Men for a while, focus on myself, being happy and building up my confidence.

My ex is like that. We've been apart for 4 years and as he's DD's dad he has regular contact but is always trying to kiss or touch me, I always pull away an your think after all this time he'd have got the message but during the last 4years he's had numerous relationships and it never deterred him from coming onto me!

Everhopeful - what if it's you he thinks he is in a relationship with?? Warding off others to see where you guys go?.. Have you asked him?
I walked away from a plank that I had two dates with in three months, but seemed to suggest coming to my house more than paying for a date.. he didn't get to come to my house lets get that straight and the texting was just annoying after a while. There was no effort on his part and he cancelled a lot. When I hit my 30th it was the cut of date for "hanger ons" who couldn't decide what to do... and that saing "he's just not that into you"....“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".0 -
krustylouise, have you thought about joining the Weekly Spend Challenge thread? It's really helped me, i've lived on less than £40 (food, entertainment, everything except bills& direct debits!) for the last 3 weeks, which for me is a miracle. Its something to keep me motivated and counting every penny I spend.May Grocery Challenge - £34.58/£75

Hi,
I've created a budget and a spreadsheet and 6 accounts for various things not including food and petrol or bills. I end up spending approx £20 a week on food that's for myself, DD and our kitten. I might pop up a fresh SOA and get some new opinions though things like sky and mobile contracts are none negotiable ATM as stuck in contracts, but I have phoned them and they've been kind and orange have reduced my bill by £10pm and sky have reduced my package.PAD 2023 Debt total as of Dec 2022 £18,988.63*April £17,711.03

Sorry KL, I wasn't meaning to try it so that you can reduce your budgets so to speak. Just as a way to keep you motivated. I see it as a sort of game to keep ontrack and getting a 'green within budget' total at the end of the week is a small win for me and I don't get disheartened by slow progress. Welcome Tia, to what is now becoming the mass ranks of SADs!
Is your target to pay off £15000 by the end of the year or have your total debt down to £15000?
Hi Muhren, my goal is to have paid £15000 off my debt by the end of the year. This includes my minimum payments. It's still a way to go before i'm debt free but its a BIG start!0 -

I've had this £2k lingering for ages and I'll be damned if I can find money to pay it off quicker! Would love some tips to help me pay it off/find money to pay it off quicker and perhaps carry on the good habits and possibly save some?
Hello! My target for this year is to pay £15,000 off my debt. This does include my minimum payments though - All in all the actual "overpayment" will be around £6,000 I get decent bonuses at work which until now have just been spent on paying my cards off and running them back up again! But this year i'm using the money to pay straight off my cards and loans and leaving them alone. I'm also hoping that paying a lump sum off my biggest loan in December that the interest rate can be brought down meaning next year I can get it paid off even quicker!
I've also started a savings jar at home and i've been chucking change from my purse into it since February and also any unexpected money I get - Its up to £150 already! I haven't even noticed the money going either. Its just become a bit of a habit. I suppose for me it's just about learning some discipline when it comes to my money :j0 -

That's amazing 15k! I don't even earn that in a year! Lol. I had a little epiphany this morning, my whole life revolves around money. I don't just go to work and have out with my DD, it is mostly dependant on the state my bank is in as to what I get up to, therefore affecting my mood. But since I've set up individual savings accounts for certain items and leaving them to their own devices I feel a little more responsible. I'm going to try and have a lean month with any spare money saved over from food/petrol budget etc, I will pop £10extra into my emergency fund and then the rest will go off my vanquis debt and I'll try my hardest to do that every month.
Honestly everyone on here is a real inspiration and almost keeping me on the straight and narrow!
Good luck paying off your credit cards and overdraftPAD 2023 Debt total as of Dec 2022 £18,988.63*April £17,711.03
