  • Sooooo my lovely fellow SAD's..... I have some news!!!!

Thanks to some annual leave I have managed to cash in, and a refund of some charges I have managed to get back from the bank (They upgraded my account to a paid one without asking!!)......
I currently have only £1400 debt left, which is on a 0% card, and which will be paid at the end of the month...... which means.....

I WILL BE DEBT FREE WHEN I GET PAID AT THE END OF THIS MONTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you'll have me, id really like to stay though? Maybe give ideas to new SAD's, keep you all company, and keep myself on track!

I cant BELIEVE im nearly there!!!

  • Hello all, just discovered this thread, I am single too and mother of one, two failed relationsips were partly responsible for some of my debt but not all. Although I do find there are times when I feel lonely, generally I am in control, the house and mortgage are in my name alone and could not ever imagine sharing finances again. It means I am in control and being a bit of a control freak that makes me feel good !

Well after getting paid last week I have made my first inroads into my debt as shown in my first ever sig!

I have someone moving into my house on the 9th Feb so once they have been there a couple of months I will be in a better position to see how much I can pay off each month and when my DFD will be.

:D Every journey starts with a single step! ;)

I'm getting there, I can't wait for it to be gone. Then if I am single forever at least I can keep lots of dogs and drink lots of champagne :rotfl:

  • Is anyone planning to send any Valentine's Day cards?

I have three planned - but one is to my friend in Afghanistan.

    Hello All

I just thought I would introduce myself as a fellow SAD. I can only put my debt problems down to the fact I had a complete mental breakdown by getting involved in a relationship (although I prefer to think I was abducted by aliens as it somehow sounds better than insanity), then having taken on an enormous mortgage, the fear of being in debt and homeless meant I lasted a lot longer than I should have.

However with the support of friends and family I am now much happier than I have even been over the last 10 year and although I am going through a financial meltdown, as it is all only control with the help from here and SC I only wish I had left the idiot a lot longer before I did.

Having been happy on my own before - this is why I cannot understand why I did have a relationship - yes it can be hard at times but it feels so much better to be in control and not have to worry about what other debts are going to crop up (or other women for that matter).

This time I am staying single forever, well unless some rich 90 year old comes along!
