Hi,Happy New year to all SAD's out there.I'm hoping 2013 is going to be less eventfull and stressfull.I am over the shock of being diagnosed with ovarian cancer and large operation in may.So far I haven't had to have anymore treatment, just check ups.Hope it stays this way.As I've said I'm a happy singleton, but times like these aren't the easiest to cope with.Anyway I only have a small amount of debt and I'm determined to get rid of it.Unfortunetly my income is set to drop so it will be harder, but after what I've been through it doesn't seem to matter as much.Had to tell daughter I did have cancerous tumour, but she has taken it quite well and I want her to be tested for cancer gene.If I had been given a scan when I first went to doctor instead of being fobbed off I wouldn't have ended up with a 2st tumour.
Anyway like I said I'm really going to have to be more frugal than I have been of late,so looking on old style for some nice recipes.Sorry for long post.0 -
Hi everyone, Happy New Year! How are we all doing? I must admit to being down at the moment, the guy I thought something might happen with, well, it hasn't. Turns out he was just like every other man, so never mind.
What is everyone up to this weekend? I honestly think I'd go mad if it wasn't for my little dog.

Hi SB
Happy New Year to you too. Been a bit absent myself but I'm back again!!
I met someone before Christmas but unfortunately due to circumstances that he can't help we have called it a day. There was no one else involved and we have stayed in regular contact. I'm not sure if this is wise as I really like him but on the other hand I want to be there for him too.
Hopefully 2013 will be our year!!
Take care.

Happy New Year to everyone. I would also like to echo the sentiments that hopefully this will be a good year in every aspect for all of us SAD's.
Sue09 - It was very humbling to read your post and made me realise that there are people that have a lot more to cope and deal with than myself which acts as an inspiration to me and I thank you for that.
With everything that happened before Christmas I am no longer seeing the girl that I had met up with a couple of times, however I am due to be going out for drinks with another young lady on Thursday, so I will have to wait and see how that goes!LBM: Dec 2012 - Debt £38,180/ Now £0.

So i have some GREAT news fellow SAD's...
The lovely bank of Natwest has today offered me a 0% rate to transfer ALL of my remaining debt (up til now in my overdraft at 19.4%) onto one of the credit cards i have cleared already - Which I have accepted, and as such, im no longer paying any interest on any debts!!! Im SO happy!!!
Bearing this in mind, Instead of fighting to pay off the remaining debt by March, I am going to pay £200 a month off the credit card over the next few months, and plough the remainder into my savings ISA, where it WILL BE EARNING INTEREST!!!
As such, Im going to determine myself debt free when the amount i have in savings cancels out the debt!!!
Thoughts anyone? Seems sensible to me :ATotal Debt: was £8,400 / now £0

After posting on the first page of this thread, I'd missed it all again until today. I'm not technically SAD, another SAM over here, and almost getting ready to increase the mortgage by moving but I'm trying to do it the MSE way, and alone, which is scary.
Basically, room for a little one? To cover the essentails, I'm female, 38, been divorced for 8 years and the debts I had were no one's fault by my own. According to my mates, my exploits with men are the stuff of legend. Drunken, mocking, falling off the barstool laughing at me types of legend. I have lots of male friends, but no one that I look at and think 'Ooh, aye', if you see what I mean. Some days, it's just not worth chewing through the leather straps....
