Southernbelle yup, I'm dreading Christmas too. Will be at parents for the big day (and will prob stay overnight) but apart from that, I'm pretty much on my own..... I dread it every year but it seems a bit worse this year as I'm not well & can't get out & about

Any particular reason you're dreading it?

  • Just popping back in to say hello! My Xmas was a really lovely one, spent with my mother but I made the decision that I was going to have a good Xmas no matter what. My birthday was 2 days before Xmas, and that was also absolutely lovely too!

All the food came from M&S :))) As I had a direct debit set up for the year, and a budget all the food and present were covered. So, I did not go into debt at all.

Doing reasonably well on the freelancing and made some more money which has all remained in my account, got some overtime from the day job on top of that. Didn't buy anything from the sales, and I am proud to be able to say that I've kept a spending diary for the last 5 months and it is has really changed my attitude to money.

Same with my budget, I actually look forward to making it. I'm looking forward to paying loads more this year, and making more money too. The only thing that is left is for my divorce to be finalised, and then it is really is onwards and upwards. I feel pretty positive, I know every day won't be easy - but I am seeing a massive light at the end of the tunnel and I'm really looking forward to 2013 xxx
