S.A.D - and proud of it!!.... Paying a debt off by Xmas: CC2 :xmastree:
  • The problem with getting so excited about paying CCs on payday is that sometimes (like right now) I get too excited and pay off too much, leaving not enough cash for the rest of the month lol.

I really wanted to pay off all of the chunk of my Halifax card that would stop being 0% this month ... so crunched a few figures and worked out it was affordable. Completely forgetting a lot of things I need cash for this month! All my spending goes on my M&S CC so that I get points and I pay it off in full every month ... but of course some things can only be paid in cash, and this month I forgot about the TV licence DD (quarterly), the deposit for my work xmas do and that my pony needs the horsey dentist.

It's a long month when you're counting the days until payday on the 2nd!!!
I seldom end up where I wanted to go, but almost always end up where I need to be

I'm glad to see that everyone seems to be doing so, I on the other hand am not.

I think I really have hit rock bottom this time as I have been gambling again and have made my debts a whole lot worse. I don't really know what I am expecting from coming on here but I find it easier to "talk" about things on here. It got so bad that I couldn't see any way out so took some pills a week ago on Sundayand ended up in hospital. I was in intensive care and came out last Tuesday, I feel pysically fine now but I am shot to bits mentally. I know this is not the right place to be posting this but everyone has been really helpful on here I thought I would post.

  • Ohhhh Muhren (((hugs))) sorry to hear things have been so tough ..... I'm afraid I don't feel adequately "qualified" to offer advice but I do understand the lows (my BFF is bi-polar) - please, please take all the help offered .... both for the gambling and the thoughts of hurting yourself. Wishing you all the best for your recovery

I feel a bit better about things today but know that I have some big changes to make in my life. I have moved back home and given all my cards to my dad and put blocks to gambling sites on my dads computer and my laptop.

I have been to the last 3 GA meetings and not had a bet in 2 days so taking the first small steps.

Going to rent my house out which will enable me to throw every penny I have at clearing my debt and will be using this board for guidance and inspiration. Hopefully this time next year I will be in a much better situation.
