  • I would like that very traditional light gold/ice white shabby chic kind of look? I also need a pink stocking for a new baby (first xmas) with her name on?
This year heralds an entirely new "look" for xmas - its going to be my one treat this year, and all budgeted for! - my ex preferred VERY non traditional decorations for xmas.....This year its all about me! :D
    Do you have any pics?

I'll put up some pics at the weekend (if that's allowed), or PM them to you x

  • Yes! It does feel good! - been taken advantage of for FAR too long.
Now I just need to sort out all the people who only call me when they NEED something......

Ah, now that does sound like a plan!

By the way, my daughter kept telling me last Christmas that it didn't feel like Christmas. I was only at the night of Xmas eve that she worked out why... "nobody is stressed, and there's no yelling" sad isn't it? I like my Christmases now :) on Christmas day she asked me why I wasn't stressed out doing the Christmas dinner. I told her because I enjoy doing it, it's fun (I do :) ). She was gobsmacked. Asked why I hadn't done it before. Of course the ex insisted on cooking dinner and made the whole thin a nightmare, it was a revelation to my daughter that it could actually be enjoyable

Ha! The ex used to have delusions of being Jamie Oliver, he would insist on doing it too... and critiquing any thing I made, so happy to be spending Xmas 2 without him. Let the good times roll!

Oh god our exes sound so familiar in the kitchen! Mine said when I cooked that it looked like dog vomit. Nice.
Let the good times roll indeed! Oh wait, they already are, I'm off out for a beer tonight, wouldn't have been able to do that whilst with the ex :j

Bananas and cereal?! Oh good lord, is there a book that all the peculiar and mean exes read to get their training from? :rotfl:

Good luck with Christmas, I know what it's like to not enjoy Christmas, I've had enough miserable ones to know what they feel like.
I'm sure there'll be plenty of support on here closer to 25/12 to get everyone's spirits up who might be feeling down over the festive season :)

  • Cookery update: my daughter just said "you're such a good chef, mum" :) I served her a delicacy - soft scoop ice cream with an animal bar stuck in it. Still wrapped.

Nobody can accuse me of not looking after my teenager! :rotfl:
