I just found this thread - not read it from the beginning yet but will subscribe and aim to do so!
Be vvv weary of Plenty of Fish, without naming and shaming I work with a large male dominated group and they all use POF to get their end away and nothing else - I'm sure they're not all like that but the sites you dont have to pay for (unfortunatley) have the worst reps! If they've paid for it they normally want something from it that lasts more than an evening!
I am also single and tackling my debt, it has been lonely at times but Ive managed to have a few dates here and there, you just have to be imginative about what to do! I share a house with 2 others though so that helps on the loneliness front but has been tricky when I was at my most strict budget and couldn't spend the same on the flat or dinners or nights out. That helped after I came clean and told them about it.
We can do it! :TSantander 0% £1,529.94

yes, I agree that there are a lot of men like that on POF but there must (ratios and the power of the universe and all that) be some normal and nice ones too - think it's probably just a case of being quite on your guard and not giving too much away until you can properly suss them outI want to be a writer0

I agree....I use POF and my favourite question to the "single" men is "how long have you been married?"...the average seem to be about 8 years....Momma didnt raise no fool!Total Debt: was £8,400 / now £0

Oh to even be thinking about trying to get a date! I'm trying to decrease debt and weight, one more on track than the other
I'm also really shy, and even doing the whole 'on the internet' thing scares the bejeesus out of me.

I have been lurking fallingdown but not really had anything productive to add so haven't posted.
I haven't completely given up and have been having the odd £1 acca but fell off the waggon the last couple of weekends with my weakness roulette. Although I am up I know its a slippery slope so really trying to not get back into that again.
I am on pof and went out on a date last week and I'm seeing her again on Thursday so may very well be stripped of my S.A.D status soon. Fingers crossed anywayLBM: Dec 2012 - Debt £38,180/ Now £0.

Morning Everyone!
Welcome Ronnie83.. why don't you start a diary? I think its really interesting to hear everyones situ and what they are doing to get out of it... plus writing it down might be theraputic?
Hello Londongirl! I've started reading your diary - you are a real inspiration! welcome to the thread!
Loving the idea of a meet up LOL although I am rubbish at guessing what people look like! we all might fall out before we get there!!! LOL
I have some male friends that use POF for the same reason but Mr Muhren is one thats not like that! so maybe give it a go? its free? just be careful! :rotfl:
I'm looking at it that I need to focus, i'm trying to clear my debt within 16 months so I think i'm going to put the dating thing to the back of my list... if i meet someone while i'm debt busting great but actually it will be less of a destraction! now thats dedication... also if i meet someone I will be forced to take it slow as I can't afford too many dates!
i've been majorly day dreaming about beeing debt free at the moment I really hope I manage it by the end of next year I do feel like my life has been on hold and I kinda think that if i did meet someone this debt monster would be hanging over the relationship from the off. I did go to a charity night last month and had a £5 pyshic reading (all went to the cats home) and she reckons i'll meet someone by the end of the year and he'll be amazing and all my money worries will be over in the first half of next year... all sounds way to go to be true! I was waiting for her to tell me he would be tall dark and handsome! - would be nice though!:rotfl:
Nothing new on the job frontstill working my way through Swagbucks but i've not had much time with the whole NY office in a pickle i've had a few late nights at the office
