  • thats just it isnt it? The contradiction. I usually love being on my own, especially now that i'm trying to save, but Ive just spent the whole weekend under the weather, and not spoken to a soul. And just to twist the knife, I can now hear the neighbours making love! Rub it in why dont'cha?!
  • Well I've had a good weekend ...two NSD! think that's a first for me!!

Also, got an unexpected payment through from a friend who owed me money (to be honest I'd forgotton about it - which is probably why I'm in the mess I'm in:rotfl:)
On my new debt free mission, instead of blowing it on xmas stuff, I paid some off credit card and overdraft, so am off to a head start before payday. TBH I was just going to take it all off CC but makes me feel better for paying a bit off two bills instead of just one!
Payday will see a new me! Have resolved to pay £100 towards debts (on top of min payments) plus £100 off overdraft. This means I will be debt free by June 2013 plus have some savings. Can't wait....
Just need to resist the temptation of spending now, so have bought a 2013 diary (already got one for the remainder of this year) to log all spends so I can smack my hand when needed!
    Stopped smoking 20th October 2012 :D

This year I will have something that resembles a garden and not a building site!
  • Hi! This caught my eye today and I've read every single post! I'm 28, newly single and move out last week. Read with interest all the posts about having someone and feeling lonely and I didn't have a partner for ages and it's ALL I wanted. Now, having had one and being in an unhealthy relationship, I'm in no rush to start seeing anyone again. The posts about abusive partners and being criticised - I couldn't agree more. In different ways, this happened to me too and I was told about it but I didn't accept it until I saw it myself. I miss him, but I feel less stressed and the feeling of dread in the pit of my stomach I walked about with 24/7 has gone! They say you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone - well, in this case, a horrible feeling of dread has gone! It was a complete burden. I feel weak, confidence damaged and it was the hardest move to make... why did I want to stay? Honestly? Cuddles! Sounds PATHETIC, doesn't it?! Now that I have it (although I am not saying it's easy and I miss some things and I struggle and get upset too), peace of mind is WOW for me!! When you love someone, you want to believe the best things about them and love is blind, as they say. Also, I suppose when you accept one or two things because you want the relationship to work, when you're in a relationship for a while, you become conditioned to accept things that you really shouldn't.

Really such a relief to know there are other singletons out there fighting the SAD battle too! Makes you feel not so alone. People always say things like "there are other single people out there" and you agree, but tend not to really believe it and feel as though you're the only one!

I got them this morning too! I suspect they're trying to cash in on our Christmas panic, but I have to admit I had the same reaction as you.... "Oooo, credit score must be getting better, even if it is from Vanquis at 39.9%. Now where's the shredder?"
    :rotfl:

In our house, when things break, we just pretend they still work
  • when you're in a relationship for a while, you become conditioned to accept things that you really shouldn't.

    Bingo!

Congratulations on breaking free! Single life really is much better than being in a bad realtionship :)
And being in control of our own finances, however cr***y they may be is such a good feeling, isn't it?

  • My internal score with my bank (santander) must be ok i had an instant plus account and it was upgraded to an everyday account automatically .
I know Santander get a bad rap on here but when i opened my first account with them it was just a basic account when i joined payplan they have been fine with me .
I know i have made great progress with my debt but the only real problem is by the time my debt is clear i will be 35 and still live at home .I know this isn't the end of the world but does get me down at times the good thing is my debt will be clear and i can start to live again .
