Ebay, funnily enough have their site set up to ensure that you pretty much have to use paypal, if you want to trade effectively.
I don't hate paypal, i just distrust it. My point is that paypal imply its good to trust it, everything will be fine, its all ok.
Lots of people believe that, i like a some others who have learnt the hardway are trying to promote the fact that YOU NEED TO BE VERY CAREFUL IN DEALING WITH PAYPAL0 -
Yes, I agree, of course you have to be careful.
PayPal is a lot safer than the majority of other payment methods, hence why most people choose to pay this way.-->♥<-- Sugar Coated Owl -->♥<--

... hence, i dont think it would do anyone any harm to read https://www.paypalsucks.com, to at least be aware of the dangers.0 -
It's posted here at least once a week so I would think most people know of the site anyway.-->♥<-- Sugar Coated Owl -->♥<--

... but unfortunately not the O/P
people losing money because of paypals terms is an ongoing problem, hence the ongoing postings and the ongoing replies.
it must be great to brush people like the O/P off with 'oh well it wouldnt have happened if youd read all of paypals t&c's in detail' but personally, if we can save someone that loss, then we should continue to flag the risks.
it is a money saving site is it not? or should we all adopt your 'its not my problem' approach?0 -
It's done now. There isn't a great deal that the OP can do.-->♥<-- Sugar Coated Owl -->♥<--

Except warn others?
I lost £300 because paypal decided to revoke a visa transaction TWO WEEKS after they authorised the funds into my account, they then put my paypal account into a negative balance, then took it direct from my current account.
All because the buyer was a fraudster. Not me.
I cant do anything about that, my moneys gone to paypals coffers, and i cant do anything about the OP losing their money, but maybe other people reading this post might just be a bit more careful.
Or should we not help others on this forum?0 -
why dont you go round to the house in question or if you cant post the address on this forum so others can see and maybe it will be on their doorstep and luckily may go round and sort them out....verbally0

But we can do something by keep letting people know:Paypal are Rubbish
And telling them to read:
to understand why people say that.
That's what this site's here for: To Help Others.0
