I'm well aware that students are targeted by retailers, coffee shops and drinks companies. What we seem to disagree on is whether this is something students and their parents should accept unquestioningly and comply with. As members of a money saving site, I think my views are more appropriate than yours.0 -

Some people here have some very strange ideas about what students can or cannot spend their money on! If you think spending £2 on a couple of coffees is excessive, I really feel for you :rotfl:“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -

I think that students can spend their money on anything they choose. I also think that anyone who spends £2 a day (on a regular basis) on coffee and then claims to be hard up needs to readjust their ideas and their priorities.0 -

Where have I ever claimed to be hard up? It's actually a huge saving for me and a luxury I certainly can afford compared to the prices usually charged, so I probably drink more coffee out socially now than I usually would :T“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -

Well I don't see anyone else claiming to spend £2 a day on coffee! Re-read what you wrote.“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -

Sorry if you've felt I've singled you out as that wasn't my intention. However, you have been talking about this as quite a general situation which is what I based my comments on.0 -

I honestly don't care one way or the other :rotfl:
You do appear to be the sort of person who likes to have the last word though so feel free to go ahead, I'm done with this petty conversation“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -
~Chameleon~ wrote: »Does that also buy you a social life? I can't imagine what sort of coffee you're drinking so cheaply, I think I'd rather drink the dishwater than that0
