Hello ladies I have been lurking for a little while and decided now is the time to reveal myself...!
Having begun my career as a teacher in September I am in desperate need of some 'fabbing'! I fear that if I'm not careful my job will take over my life. I have found the change of lifestyle a bit shocking! I have gone from working part time in 'Britain's best loved department store' which was a 5 minute bus ride from home (discount on clothes, perfume, make up, business dress), to teaching- a 50 mile round commute, 6am alarm and a daunting work load to be a very drastic change! I seem to be walking around a little bit shell shocked at the moment and have particularly found the cold dark nights very testing...
so here goes...
I vow to make sure my nails are always in good condition
I will moisturise my whole body every day
I will not get home from school and park on the sofa doing work, eating and then just go to bed.
I will get more fresh air- even when it is cold!
I will invite friends round more
I will plan trips to exhibitions, the theatre and cinema to stop my brain from dying.
I will make sure that my boyfriend occasionally sees me in make up and clothes other than joggers/ jim jams!!
I will download lots of good books for my kindle rather than melting my brain watching crap tv.
Basically I want to make my life fit around work not the other way round!
Well done ladies on all your positive steps, this really has been an inspiring thread to 'stalk'0 -
Hugs all round :A
Feel for you EH. It's flattering when someone feels that way but if you don't feel the same then nothing will come of it. And he has to accept that. You can't persuade someone to love them. Take it easy this evening :A
Welcome aboard Cheap. Don't be too harsh on yourself. :A And do stuff gradually so it becomes a habit. You'll get plenty of ideas here.

It is true- it's that old adage- often you wouldn't be anywhere near as horrible/ harsh to other people are you are to yourself!0

LL - Life is very exciting for you at the minute
Cheapsk8 - welcome
Bratz - No harm in popping along for a look and a chat
EH - These situations are always tricky
I treated myself to a lovely evening nap and I have woken up calmer and feeling more relaxed. It has been a busy week and everything has gone by so quickly and I was tired out. Now I feel better
Weight wise I am still getting slimmer :j and I am now slimmer than I have been for last 2 years. Not enough lost for others to see, but I know that it going in the right directionStill not getting into exercise
Been taking positive steps to fab my life and I have arranged to meet up with good friends at different points over the holidays so I am really looking forward to happy afternoons/evenings. I have also taken steps to get an allotment
Beauty wise I have been neglectful and my skin is dry and dull so over the weekend I will try to slap on a wee face pack and also sort out my nails.Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0 -
floss2, LL, WW and Bitsy - thanks for the advice. I'm heading up there today so we'll see how it goes.
I'm some ways I would like to move more into development as there's less unsociable hours and more money; but I've had so many bad jobs or jobs I've hated a large part of me wants to stay in a job I love since it took so long to find! We'll see how today goes though.
EH - good luck for the chat with your friend. He has to accept you don't feel the same way, but hopefully he will value your friendship enough to not let this ruin it.carpe diem

Hi,
Welcome to all the new additions.
Sorry can't answer everyone personally just haven't got the time atm.
Am still decorating for my offspring and have my own, which has taken a backseat to finish at the weekend. Together with prep for xmas, normal household chores, and trying to get some of my OU assignment done I feel like I don't have time to breathe!
Did take time out yesterday though to visit my Aunts, take their cards and took the oppurtunity to pop and get my eyebrows threaded at the same time.
DS2 had a bit of an accident in the car at the weekend on an ungritted road. Damaged a council sign which he may have to pay for! What about them paying for his car? If the road had been gritted it wouldn't have happened, he wasn't going fast and another car had an accident on the road below (it was just past a turn off) at the same time. Sometimes wonder what council tax is for.
Will try and keep up some sort of fabbing till I can breathe on Dec 24th.:rotfl:
Right back to the assignment.
have agood day everyone.Frump to Fab - Solstice Sizzler

Hi all,
Sorry have been awol the last few days, been a bit manic. Have been trying to catch up on you all but too many to comment on now so will just say welcome! to the new people, hope the poorly people are feeling better soon and am so glad no one was hurt in the accidents (bleeding cheek of them though, Lizzie!).
Anyways, today is RELEASE DAY!!! My book is out and shiny and being bought by people (well, my mum's bought one and hopefully a few others :rotfl:). It's very surreal to see it up on Amazon. Hope I don't get in trouble for this but if anyone would like a look the link is here:

Wow PP! Congratulations :j
It looks brilliant. Is this your first/or one of many? The reviewer called it a novella - how many words is it? Not heard the term novella before.
Many congrats!Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage
