I'm having a bit of a quandary...not strictly in the 'fab' arena but in the job arena.

I've been potentially offered a job - in that they want to meet me but think I'd be a good fit etc etc. It's a job with potential career progression and a move into a development role eventually (which is more money). All sounds good on paper, right?

The problem is, I love the job I have now, I love the people I work with, I never dread going into work. I work for a good company. Less career progression and less chance of getting development experience though.

I feel like I should be more ambitious and career driven; I should want this other job. But I also feel job satisfaction is very important. Am I wary of changing jobs because I'm comfortable, or because I'm happy? And is being comfortable such a bad thing?

I always enjoyed my job ,every day was different, but loved going to work to see what would be happening. If you don`t enjoy a job you will not do it properly.

Bratz, do you want to move into development in the future? Or can you see yourself taking another path within your chosen field? Where do you see yourself in 5 & 10 years time in your career?

The only other advice I would give is that it is very flattering to be asked to go & meet another company, and if I were you I would go along, just for the confidence boost and experience. You never know, you might get there and immediately hate the environment / staff / terms & conditions which would resolve the problem for you!

Hope that helps with any decision making!

Had a break with snow and ice ww. But re started. Dog is laying down having a post walk nap now. :). What's your January fitness goals WW? I'm trying to decide if I should aim for a walk every day, and two walks if I miss any days. As I've failed to achieve this every day. Or push a but harder.

    Keep warm everyone

    Hello Ladies

Brrrr!!! It's freezing, hoar frost glistening in the sun, I admit it looks beautiful. If you look in the daily papers you will see pictures of Carsington or Wirksworth - both about 10 miles from me. No snow but so much frost it looks like snow. I've dug out my thermals.:D

Physio this morning, plus 3 big bags to the charity shop, car loaded up ready for the tip tomorrow. Have paid deposit on the rental house and we go to sign the lease tomorrow. Exciting - a new chapter of my life is about to begin.

Bratz - I agree with Floss - go and have a chat with them - you've got nothing to lose. You might be able to assess things better then.

Time for a cuppa, a little nap and then tackle the ironing and even more decluttering.

    Keep warm.

I'd agree with this - go and have a look - you never know, if nothing else it may make you want to stay put and then you'd know you'd made the right decision. Congrats on being asked though!

Not sure about the Jan fitness regime yet but it will have to include some extra running as I'm doing my first 10Km on March 1st:eek::eek:

Its freezing here today again - just back from dog walking and even though I wore leather gloves I can't feel my fingers.
Its my work do tomorrow - the dreaded new frock event - and so tonight will have to include some fabbing - scrubs, toe nails and fingernails. Defuzzing will have to wait until tomorrow so I'm all smooth for the do.
Will get the frock out and have a trial dress up tonight.

I think it depends on what you want out of life. I've never been terribly career driven and given that my last office job went from a diverse and interesting role to getting cheques signed and taking stuff to the bank I would choose to be in a job I loved. Still as the others say it can't hurt to go look ;)

Like LL gorgeous hoar frost here, been wearing my M&S thermals and I love them. Not bulky, lovely fit and have kept me toasty warm (I've been in leggings and a long jumper all day ;)).

Not feeling very fab mind, couple of ailments making me sore and uncomfortable :( attempts at fasting this week have been a disaster so am mentally beating myself up over that too  feel the solstice approaching and as usual have moved no further forward. Meh. Enough moaning can't face a pity party tonight :o

No developments on house sale other than plenty of hits on right move. I am expecting it to all go quiet now as is nearly Christmas. Will hunker down, try and enjoy the festive season and then focus on the new year and whatever that will bring.

    Indie welcome :D

    Wrap up warm everyone xx

  • Evening All,

Had a day's temp work today so good to get some money.

Feel very unsettled and bit emotional at moment think it's a combination of everything redundancy, feeling bit run down sore throat and emotional stress, I might lose friendship of a good friend as he loves me and I don't love him like that. It's all a bit intense and messing with my head. He asked to talk so going to a quiet pub to hear him out but feel it is best if we both have some space for a little while. Can't drown my sorrows as driving, then home to pj's and knitting.

Apologies for the ramble. Will catch up with everyone elses new/posts later. EH xx

I'm not feeling terribly fab at the moment as its time of the month which is why I've been munching away on chocolate all week - usually all ok as the exercise calms it all down. Hey ho all should be back to normal tomorrow.

At work we all feel run down and tired and longing for a break this weekend.

However my work exercise and healthy eating buddy at work also hit her target weight this week and is now happy at the weight and size she is at now. She looks great and healthy and we had a nice chat at how far we had come over the last 18mths. Just goes to show not to be too hung up on weight as we are all quite similar sizes but totally different weights and dress sizes - just be happy were you are as long as its happy and healthy

Not much exercise going on this week here - I'll catch up at the weekend and aim for 3 times a week between now and crimbo then build back up to 5 times as the half marathon training begins again
