  • Hi all,

This is the first time I've been here for ages - got absorbed in December Madness! This week should be easier than last week, which means I should have a few seconds to think about fabbing! Hazzah!

I confess, I've been bad and I haven't been looking after myself properly, or even sleeping well. This week, I'm going to make an effort to look after myself, or I'll be an exhausted heap by Christmas!

PP - wow! What an achievement - well done! I just read the preview on Amazon and it's very gripping. I'm hoping for a Kindle for Christmas so it would be good to finish it! It seems like the perfect story to ready between Christmas and New Year, when the madness has settled and you have time to sit around and read and eat roses!

WW - I hope your dog is feeling a bit better today - if he's eating and drinking that's a good sign.

Okay, I need to buy a Christmas tree and finish buying presents!

    Take care xx
Not buying any more 1.)books 2.)toiletries, esp. LUSH! 3.)stationery, unless absolutely necessary!
  • A little fabbing today with a hair mask this morning, longer dog walk as usual at the weekend and getting little jars ready to pot up the bath salts for gifts. Just about to start the last lot of bath melts then sweep and mop the floors and all cleaning is done for this week

wTidied my nails up last night, restarted Shred after the long break from exercise which went ok andthen finished watching hugo which was ok, not that brill but quite pleasant I suppose.

Cards are ready to post tomorrow and then that just leaves the baking to do next weekend - just need to find a cake or bun recipe for Boxing Day and an easy meal. Think I'll wrap everything up next weekend so its ready to go

WW - I hope your little dog is continuing his recovery today, its always quite stressful when they are ill and it makes you realise they can't tell you if they feel better or worse and you see it on their little face

  • Ww keep the faith x if doggy is drinking and eating tiny bits that's really good. Try and get some fresh air into the house. Have a day of taking it easy to rest you and doggy :)

I slept right through to 10. Haven't done that for ages.

Need to tidy the house but also need a pampering bath. Will do 15 mins of tidying. Get some fresh air into the house too.

Well yesterday was hideous as I caught that stomach bug that has been going around and I was horrendously ill all day. Seems to have stopped today but I am exhausted and very shaky.

It looks as if there will be no fabbing for me this weekend although the way I look at the moment a shower might be fabbing enough :rotfl::rotfl:

    Hi all,

Thanks so much for the kind words :) Just a quick one today as am feeling like death warmed up, have been fending off a cold all week and yesterday it caught up with me - have been in bed all day with streaming nose, headache, cough, the works. Not feeling much better today really and is of course the worse timing as I had so much I was supposed to get done this weekend! Am dosed up now so am going to see if I can manage a little bit of work but my head is still on the fuzzy side so not sure how productive I'm going to be :(

Sending good wishes to you all, and WW hope poor doggy is feeling better soon, hopefully if he's managing to eat a little bit then that's a good sign x
  • WW - glad to hear your dog is doing a bit better, keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Purchaser wants to legally complete on 7th Jan - originally he asked for 14th so I've had to really get cracking this last couple of days. It's a bit tight but I can manage - I've got my boys to help.

Will aim to get the removal men for 3rd or 4th January, so I can get the damaged wooden floors sanded and refinished. (It will be much easier when the house is empty). I will need to get this organised tomorrow.

Both boys here today - the loft is now empty!!!!

They had a lovely time going through all their treasures - a real trip down memory lane. They have been very good about parting with stuff. They are certainly embracing minimalism and our new "Zen" lifestyle.

Actually they were a little bit too ruthless (I will "rescue" a couple of things from the getting rid pile because I think they will regret parting with them).

They threw out Sooty and Sweep:eek::eek: They really took to these rather than teddy bears. They (S&S) have been in the loft and smell a bit damp but I will try and give them a wash and see if we can give them a new lease of life. I will then store them properly. I've also rescued a couple of pieces of their artwork and needlework for posterity...

Then they put up the Christmas trees - sorry but yes we do have two:rotfl:. then a yummy Sunday roast so a lovely day. It's just such a pity that poor OH wasn't here to join in.

I'm a bit concerned that he might not make it here for Christmas day. He has been more or less bedridden for a week or so. Yesterday I persuaded him to sit in his wheelchair so I could wheel him down to the day room to see a couple of singers that came to the nursing home.

He managed to sit for an hour or so then asked to go back to bed. I think this may well be the last Christmas we'll have him with us - he seems to be fading......

Tomorrow I shall decorate his room - another Christmas tree;)

He loves tacky Christmas ornaments, foil garlands and things that dangle from the ceiling, tinsel - the works. His room will end up looking like Santa's Grotto. He liked the "mushroom disco ball" that the singers had - I'm sure I've seen a small version somewhere but I can't remember where. Will have to go "a-googling":rotfl:

Sorry to hear that some of you are feeling under the weather. Looking on the positive - if you are ill now you stand a better chance of being fighting fit for the festive season.

I made the mistake of crossing our city on Friday (we live on the south side and we are relocating to the north) . That was a mistake I shall not repeat - the roads were chocca-block. I have a lot of trips to make, taking stuff over to the new house so shall make a point of going the "scenic" route, through all the back roads and villages. It will be quicker than battling my way through Christmas traffic.

Luckily I don't have to go shopping in the city centre. I've bought all the presents - just the food shopping next week and I'll just stick to a couple of supermarkets this side.

    Time for Homeland.

    G'night all x

PP - congrats on the book!! My husbandino is getting me a Nexus 7 for Xmas (though I told him to actually buy it in January sales!) so I'll be another customer :)

WW - hopefully your wee man will continue to improve. It's so worrying when your pets are ill.

WW- keeping fingers crossed for mr dog. It's awful isn't it they are so much part of the family.

LL- sounds like the declutterings going well. My kids are quite ruthless too it's me who retrieves stuff - don't think they 'd get rid of sooty, sweep, sue and scampi though. Takes me back watching end of the setee puppet shows. :D

Just off to finish some decorating then should be a bit less manic hopefully.
Have a good day everyone :)
