Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker Xmas Saver!
crikey - i hadn't realised that people did this kind of thing (posing in forums as genuine users promoting their own scummy sites) call me naive i know but it genuinely hadn't even occurred to me that this kind of thing happens!

Unfortunately it happens all the time but they are often too stupid to disguise their trail and so usually get caught out! Things to watch out for from the less sophisticated spammers are things like their first ever post on a forum being about this great site they "found" or similar or several posts all mentioning the site. Always take "recommendations" made online with a pinch of salt!

Another trick is when a site or company is criticised a new poster will suddenly appear saying how great the site/company is and pretend to be an impartial customer when in fact they own the site - for example this guy
    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=363519
However he was not bright enough to use a different username to one he uses on other forums so he was easy to expose as a liar! :)

I think this could be the same person promoting http://!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!/ not sure if 'loopylou28' is another one of their 'aliases'!??

By the way I have no idea why the forum won't allow the sitename and puts !!!!!!!! as its not a swear word but the site being talked about is
    beautyp-a-r-l-o-r.co.uk without the - dashes ;)

The posts is pretty much word for word the same as all the other first posts advertising the site so I would say it will be. Come to think about it I'm pretty sure I've seen that User name on some other sites as a reply to the "found a 10% code" posts.

FOUND IT!!!! Its on the first post, but you have to scroll down do the bit that says Non BT prizes about half way down.

Loopylou28 posted on HERE in January plugging her beauty site. Bizarrely, the filter didn't work and the full name was allowed.

If you Google Loopylou28 it comes up (but for some reason you have to go into Google's cached result to actually be able to see it).

I was once given bad service and to get my own back i faxed their office number, but what I had done was looped some sheets of paper through the fax machine with some sellotape and left it on redial.

The hours of fun listening to the people on the other end shouting that this line is not a fax.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I went to make an order with the company in question on this (before reading this post) and realised that there was no padlock on the card details page, luckily i didnt put any details in but having to deal with fraud in my job, i was shell shocked that the website is allowed to do this.
Therefore i sent an email to them and this seems to be their standard reply which does scares me not, they have not got a leg stand on & if they wanna take it further bring it on.

    Heres the emails:
We have your IP address and your address and will be taking immediate legal action against you should you make any comments on a public forum that you cannot prove in a court of law.

We know where all visitors come from and will be made aware of any comments you post immediately. We have also contacted your internet provider and sent your email on to their appropriate department so they can take the necessary action against your account. As I am sure you are aware that to send electronic correspondance threatening to harm someones businesss is against the law.

Your IP address and email address is blocked and any further attempts to contact us will be taken as harrassment and taken up with the Police.

    Regards

    Mike James

    AND IT GETS BETTER:

We have further investigated your IP address today and personal details and have discovered your abuse of our website and email system is far more serious than we at first realised. We have spoken to the electronic police department by telephone this evening (they deal with nusisance and malicious emails, including any emails that contain direct or indirect threats). They have asked us to forward all the emails we have received from your IP address and they will be taking this up as a complaint against you. We have your IP address and internet provider contact details which means we have access to your home address and personal details. We have also made a formal complaint to your employer about abusing the internet while at work. The police will be formally requesting your details from both your internet provider and your employer in the next couple of days. I am obliged to tell you that every email you send in future and any visits to our website are being logged and forwarded to the police. Also any posts we find you have made will also be dealt with in the same matter (all forum posts are posted with your IP address so easy to prove). We do not know why you are effectively trying to 'stalk' us and make a nuisance of yourself but would suggest you refrain from this behaviour because the Police have made it quite clear that we are entitled to make a formal complaint (already have) and to press charges should your behaviour warrant it or continue. I am sure you do not want to end up with a criminal record and that a police warning will be sufficient.

I would also suggest for your own benefit that if you have already made any detrimental posts about our company you get them removed as coupled with the numerous emails, fake customer accounts you have registered and the direct threat you made to our office today things do not look good for you. We will be doing some Google searches over the coming days to check if any detrimental posts have be made and if necessary contacting the site owners to see if the posts come from your IP addresses.

No further correspondance will be entered into with you and all previous correspondance has now been passed to the authorities.

I am sorry we have had to resort to this but unfortunately your bizarre and threatening behaviour has left us with no choice.

    Mike James
