We need a Kingsize mattress to replace the very uncomfy one we have which also seems to be too small (length) for our bed, despite it being sold as Kingsize.
I am 6 months pregnant and am finding sleeping really difficult (I usually sleep on my front, so this side sleeping thing isn't working for me) and my husband snores! I was really worried about getting too hot in the summer with pure memory foam. After some discussion and trying a few at our local Dreams store, we decided to go for pocket sprung plus memory foam.

I've gone through this thread from start to finish and have whittled our choice down to three options:

    1. La Romantica 1500 pocket springs and 2" foam on top and bottom for £499 + £35 delivery
    2. Flexcell 1400 memory foam pocket sprung. 1400 pocket springs, 2" memory foam (one side). For £429 plus two free pillows and free delivery.
    3. Memflex Pocket 1400. 1400 pocket springs, 2" memory foam (one side). For £499 including delivery (next day delivery).
    4. KOZEESLEEP, Max Coil, Memory Foam/Sprung King Size Mattress with Coolmax Cover 70cm foam but doesn't state number of springs. £376.00+£35 delivery

Has anyone had any experience of any of these?

I don't want to enter into this debate that's been raging about impartiality and reviewers, sellers etc.
Tim, I have left a message and an email with your company, but haven't heard back. As one of these beds is sold by your company I am happy to hear how you feel it compares with the others. If you think it would cause problems to post here, feel free to call me on the number I left on your phone or PM me.

Either way, I do need feedback asap, as I am sleeping so badly and need to get a good night's rest! (The next day delivery option is looking tempting right now!)

    Thanks,
    Pabboo

OK, I am beginning to talk myself out of the Memflex as it has encapsulated springs, and I think that will stop the air circulating and I'm very worried about getting too hot, especially as I am only going to get bigger over the summer!
I noted that both the Memflex and Flexcell seem to have 55kg m/3 memory foam. I have read elsewhere that this should be the minimum for a decent density of foam, 60 being better. The La Romantica and the Kozeesleep don't state on the site (anywhere that I can see) the foam density.

I have also found out that the Flexcell has plastic coils - hence they can vacuum pack it - anyone got any thoughts on this?

Any suggestions for the coolest bed available as we want to replace our existing one (hypnos) budget of up to £1500 for a kingsized. Need something that dissipates heat easily so I guess that memory foam would be my worst nightmare.

In my opinion you cant beat pocket sprung .I imagine the memory foam do hold there heat and wouldnt last as long as pocket sprung!

It's been a week now since I took delivery of my new bed. Ordered from Bedlum Beds. The guy I spoke to was very knowledgeable and understood my needs (I have a bad back). Very professional service and an excellent price to boot. This bed has saved my back! Most mornings I would wake up in agony, not anymore I haven't slept so well for years.

hi all, im new to this, first post. :p. i been reading quite a few posts now on here and other threads, so much info to take in,

Me and my fiancee are moving in together in june and we want to buy a decent bed, ideally within £500. Also can you bargain buying a bed? :)

I want a memory foam and pocket springs, at least king size, any recommendation.

whats better divan or frame and mattress?

    any suggetion are welcome.

    cheers,

Yes you can get bargins when buying beds as long as you stay away from big brand names (you can also find far better quality by doing this), and buying on line.

You may have to up your budget to get a good quality pocket sprung/memory foam mattress with full size proper pocket springs, and a base. Otherwise you could end up with one that contains smaller (possibly plastic) reflex foam encapsulated pocket springs, and is non turn.

As far ad divan base against bedstead goes, a divan base is suitable for all types of mattress, but depending on what mattress you get you may have to modify a bedstead.

I would imagine a waterbed would be the coolest.

The trouble is that the more quilting on a bed, the warmer it is likely to be. So the coolest would be a cheap and nasty budget mattress that you can feel the springs through.

Good quality memory foam should actually out last pocket springs, and the best combination is actually pocket sprung with memory foam, but they must be proper full size steel pocket springs. The memory foam is only slightly warmer as long as it isn't too deep.
