I bought it through MattressLand who are on the internet, but we did a phone order. However our credit card went to someone called Vitastyle Limited.

I have sent a registered letter to them which they have signed for today and told them that I would require them to rectify the situation and come up with a solution by the 6th, as Consumer Direct advised me to do.

By the way, the spots are spreading upwards to the top of the matterss now. I am still airing it daily and running a fan under the bed which should deliver circulation through the wooden slats.

What is your opinion of Dormea Mattresses?

Sorry I did not pick up your message yesterday and, again, thank you.

Have you spoken to them on the phone at all?

As for Dormea, I haven't heard much about them, but I wasn't impressed by some of their claims on their web site.

Anyway, before someone starts slating me for daring to comment, take a look at this reveiw site: http://www.my3cents.com/companyOverview.cgi?code=589
  • No I have not phoned Mattressland. I would only get the sales guy and he has just passed my problems on to Sleepeezee, he says.

I cannot imagine a company like Sleepeezee would let more than a week go by without contacting us.

This morning, I noticed a slight pinkish stain on the top of the mattress under where my husband sleeps. I got my damp meter out and placed the probes on top of the bed. At the pink patch, it jumped to "damage possible" registering medium moisture.

We cant move this mattress because it is heavy and the only place for it is outside, we have no plastic cover for it so we are really in a bad, bad situation having to sleep on a really moist mattress which is getting more and more moisture. I really do not know what to do next.

Thanks for the site, I will look into it.

  • I phoned them, Tim and got the usual run around. They were not interested, said I must go through the supplier. I explained that they were forcing two over 70s to sleep on a damp bed but it fell on deaf ears. Not a company I would recommend to anyone and they certainly do not deserve the Royal emblem on their goods.

Thank you for the phone number. By the way, I would not feel bad about being slated for your very informative comments that, I am sure, the majority of us are truly grateful for.

I doubt that any of the royals actually sleep on their beds, they are more likely for the staff.

Keep pestering to shop to chase them up.

    Many thanks, and good luck.

The saga of the damp and stained mattress continues. After attempts to contact MattressLand or Vitastyle, we finally received a phone call from Vitastyle saying that Sleepeezee says the mattress is sound and they are not to blame for the damp and stains we have found. Because of this Vitastyle feels they also have no obligation to help us.

In the six months we have had the mattress, it has somehow become damp in a dry room that shows absolutely no damp at all. How can Sleepeezee even say they are not at fault without even offering to inspect the mattress?

They really need to take the Royal crest off the Sleepeezee brand.

Contact Trading Standards as soon as possible. Also write to Vitastyle and Sleepeezee and tell them what you are doing, and that you will also contact the press (including BBC Watchdog).

Agreed and send copies of the letters to both the Customer Services Dept and the MD/CEO/Someone senior in the organisation. Googling usually finds the names...

Thanks for the suggestions. I will do this and let you know what happens.
  • Hi Tim. I am tempted to buy the silent night miratex mattress and was wondering on your thoughts there.
